Maxey and Simmons.  If they would include Maxey youit makes it much more interesting.  Maxey is 22 years old 17 ppg 4.5 apg rising young star and would hand to be included for the celtics to consider trading Jaylen.

Schroder is gone anyway so really not losing much long term. Meanwhile Simmons plus Maxey would avg 30 ppg or more next year and also bring 10 to 12 assists per game for a team the sorely needs passing help.

Curious if celtics fans think if this trade favors the celtics or 76ers.

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Not crazy about trading Brown but this is a pretty good trade for both teams.  I like Maxey, Philly solves their Simmons problem and we get something for Shroeder.  I think Philly makes out very well.  I'm not sure we want to face an Embiid/Brown combination for the next 5 years or more.

Wild overpay for Ben Simmons.

We just had the Kyrie experience. This would be worse.

I'm not giving the 76ers a chip. No on that deal.

If there was going to be a deal done with Philadelphia that would be some form of an iteration of Brown for Simmons, it would have been done months ago.

Boston isn't trading Brown for Simmons. They might trade for Simmons, but Brown would never be included. Philly has been holding out for a young all-star caliber player and picks and no one is close to offering that.

Portland isn't offering McCollum or Lillard
Toronto isn't offering Siakam or VanVleet
Boston isn't offering Brown
And on and on.

The market for Simmons is drying up because no one wants a recalcitrant who hasn't gotten better after 6 years, can't and won't shoot three pointers and who's free throw shooting is so bad, you can't play him in the 4th quarter of close, important games. I am sure that choke pass that cost the Sixers a playoff series is still dancing through the heads of front offices across the league.

If Boston does a deal for Simmons, it does not include Brown. Smart, yes. Schröder, yes. Hernangomez, yes. But not Brown.

Why are there so many trade discussions on this board about the Sixers shipping Maxey and Simmons at the same time? It makes no sense…. 101 stuff.

Imagine tying up max money for Simmons. No thank you. Even if we could send Juancho or DS plus Al I’m out.

Regardless of who could be included from the Cs, A trade for Simmons is so remarkably unlikely in Boston… and yet there’s thread after thread about it.

I wish posters would focus on more realistic, creative ideas.

Boston isn't going to acquire Simmons for Brown unless Boston has another trade already lined up to get a 2nd scorer.  There is no way that Simmons can be your 2nd scorer.  It isn't his skill set.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

As I step back and think about Simmons, I land on the No side for him if it includes Brown.

- He can’t shoot.
- He has lost confidence.
- He quit on his team and franchise.

Yes he is a great defender and distributor and has tremendous ball handling skills for a 6’10” guy. But for the reasons above, I’m a hard no if the package includes Brown.

Having said that, I could see Doc being attracted to a package which would include Schroder/Smart. Smart for his defensive prowess and a Schroder to spell minutes for Maxey (who you can see Doc visibly upset with 99.9% of Philly’s games).

Ben Simmons can’t shoot outside zero feet, has been pouting on the sideline all season because he can’t handle a tough sports town, and is locked into an albatross contract for many years.

The Celtics are not trading Brown for Simmons. Try to be serious people!
