Ime needs more guys that he can trust in the playoffs and during the season. You should have at least 9 guys you can play if needs be. Ime has 7.

Best Post of the night 👍

I've been posting the same thing all season. I posted it when we were losing and then when we were winning I still posted it. It's just a fact. We have guys on our bench that can bring different things to a game for at least a few minutes a night in the regular season and then you have guys if you need shooting or a rebound or defense they'll be ready. Kornet is big, Hauser can shoot, Morgan and Nesmith play hard, and can make shots. Stauskis can shoot. On the Heat, these guys would get minutes and develop into guys who can give tyou minutes in games where you need to try something diffent.

With Williams out and Pritchard not ready for prime time your playing 7 guys
Players are tired and it showed at the end

You call for Theis for rebounding at the end? Wasn’t it Theis who never left his feet in game 3 or 4 on a missed free throw Lopez dunked over him?

It’s all a catch 22

Again your two players short. A legit Veteran ball handler and another shooter

Stevens has work to do

The C’s had Theis(+7), White(+8) and Pritchard(+3) off the bench. That’s an 8 man rotation which is the same amount of players that the Bucks went with. The issue is the coaches inability to recognize when a player, such as Theis is having his best game of the series, scoring 11pts in 11mins while Grant is playing 31mins and giving you 0pts, 1ast and 2rebs. He was a -7 at half and played even worse in the second half finishing the game a -11, which was the worst on the team. He was dreadful from start to finish and the coach didn’t adjust.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

For those screaming for Theis, Theis is the guy that has been most exposed by Milwaukee's bigs and Milwaukee has dominated him inside, on the boards. In this game and every other. I trust Tatum and Brown to get a rebound before Theis. I don't see Theis being in as some guarantee that it prevents Milwaukee from getting that rebound.

Maybe if he took off the virtue signaling mask he'd have the proper oxygen going to his brain so he can think clearly? 🤔

Grant is a horrendous rebounder. Theis is clearly a better rebounder for the C’s against the Bucks or any other team for that matter. Grants per 36 for rebounds is 3.6… 3.6! If you give Theis 20-25 mins this game instead of playing Grant 31mins, giving you virtually no production, the C’s win.

So Al had 30 points last game, shooting 11-14 from the field and 5-7 from 3pt. He was by far the most efficient scorer for the C’s. Tonight he has 7 shot attempts. How does that happen?? In the 8 games of this postseason, Horford is shooting 56.5% from the field, 53.5% from 3pt and 80% from the line. I triple checked, not a typo: 56.5% from the field, 53.5% from 3pt and 80% from the line. Someone seriously needs to let Ime know, because he clearly doesn’t. How do you not get a player putting up those kind of numbers involved in the offense EVERY game? Again, this is just bad coaching.

I think it was Roy who mentioned this earlier in the thread? That if Ime can't get to the conference finals then the Celtics' success in the calendar year of 2022 counts for less (or something to that effect).

Would you reconsider now, say if they end up losing this series?

I think so. A domination of Brooklyn in the first round, and going toe to toe in an extremely competitive series with the Bucks (they lost Middleton, we lost Timelord and I think Smart for some of these games).

Would you not at least give this another year to grow? At the very least I would.

I think Ime is the right person. This loss is what happens when the pressure gets to you. It's gotten to all of us now and then.

But we have a lot of championship or bust folks who are tired of waiting since 2008. They may end up deciding Stan van Gundy is a better choice.

I'm just curious, why is it you think it's always the coach's plan/fault when certain players get the ball or not? I don't think Ime is the guy holding the Xbox controller deciding "I'm not going to let Al get the ball". Sometimes it's on Al to call for the ball or get himself in a position where he can score. Sometimes it's on the players to decide to get their teammates involved. Sometimes it's how the other team's coverages work out, clearly Milwaukee didn't want Al to do another special on them. Sometimes it's just the way the ball bounces and doesn't find people.

The players aren't puppets on strings, they need to ask themselves if certain players aren't getting the ball in scoring positions. They're the ones on the court with the ball.

Not to mention it's been 5 games of extremely high level basketball - and while I wasn't able to follow a lot of it live, for the most part it seems Ime did extremely well based on media reports and recaps.

Game 3 (if I recall correctly) was an Al Horford tip and several horrible calls away from a win - this is a very close series from our first year coach.

Yeah, MIL adjusted, left others open.  That is not why we lost.  We had the game.  We let it slip away at the end.  The players tightened up.  Now maybe you can say that if the coach had said the right thing or whatever, then the players would not have tightened up.  I don't know.  But I don't see this game as a reason to doubt Ime.

Nothing is a guarantee, but he's a better rebounder than Grant, for instance.  I mean, Grant is an anemic rebounder.  He's behind Aaron Nesmith, for God's sake.  He's only marginally better than Payton Pritchard!  Meanwhile, Theis leads our team in TRB% in the playoffs this season, and is second in DRB%.  Grant is second worst on the team in playoff DRB%, behind only Smart.

On a night when Grant just didn't have it -- we were basically 4-on-5 for 30 minutes tonight -- Theis should have gotten more minutes.  He was on fire.
