Rob is the star of the game.

His game is maturing nicely , he no longer is wasting energy trying to make every block , every play a monster play.  He now selects his times to use his athleticism and energy and looks so much more in control and confident out on the court .   It is a good thing for him to watch AL and learn to pick his battles .

I love Smart when he's playing within his capabilities. He's a way better point guard than he allows himself to be. Really gets in his own way.

Good all around game tonight for Marcus... except from 3 (0-2).

That's where I don't think he's doing himself any favours.

I want him to take threes. But only if the shot-clock is halfway through the single digits.

You are acting like the guy does not have the Cs record for threes made in a game…..lol

Tatum another excellent playmaking game.

Smart another outstanding all-around game on both ends. No turnovers. Great help defense. He’s been 12th in the league in deflections but he might be climbing after tonight.

I’ve been a dogged supporter of Dennis but he simply has to value the ball more.

Toronto has been leading the league in offensive rebound %, but you couldn’t tell tonight. Tatum an excellent ten defensive boards.

33 minutes for The Timelord, and another packed stat sheet. He sure has great hands.

Eight rotation players tonight; I predicted that Ime, who learned at Pop’s knee, would keep it longer. 37 minutes for Tatum is a lot if he’s going to keep that up.

Romeo has earned his spot in the rotation. I didn’t think that that would happen, but here we are; just has great feel for team defense, and he’s currently 9/18 from the arc - as Bill Walton might say, that’ll get it done.

Parker’s dropped out of the rotation, while Ime sticks with Grant Williams.

The team has grown, especially on the defensive end - compare the two Raptors games. I’m glad not to have to listen to all the Chicken Littles for a couple of days at least.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

Was at the Garden tonight. The one thing I noticed was Udoka constantly imploring his team to get back on defense. And they responded.  The team defense was excellent.

Great Win, but that has to be the most one sided reffing I've seen in years. SOOOO many No Calls on Toronto, wow they foul on every play and almost never get called. Van Vleet holds big guys in the paint on defense, not one call on him all game--Nick Nurse crying all game to the refs was an absolute joke.

So glad we came out of this with a big Win---cause the refs kept the Raps in the game.

Me too, but he was dressed like Ralph Malph in the Happy Days episode...street clothes underneath.

The moment I posted this, I realized that Nessie was the guy who deserved the garbage minutes, along with Prtichard. This team is very deep.  Guys like Fernando, Juancho and Hauser can't even get into a blowout game.

I won't go as far as saying, 'it's the most one-sided reffing I've seen in years', but I agree that TOR got away with a lot of hacks and just being overly physical. I wondered how they had such a good record coming into this one and it's clear they are one of the teams majorly benefitting from the new 'let em play' rule change.

I think once teams adjust and once refs adjust, they will fall back into where they are supposed to be (play-in caliber), but it was interesting seeing their guys so confident in enforcing their physical will on the game. They have an interesting roster with almost all big, strong, active wings (except FVV). Nurse has these guys ready to play everynight, but, man, he needs to shut up. Refs can't possibly be taking this guy seriously anymore, right?
