IME said to Abby in the post game interview:

they have to stay professional, they got too laid back, too cute, thought the game was over in the 3rd and started celebrating too early and it bit them in the backside.

Said Jayson turned the ball over a few times and they lapsed on defense. Said fatigue wasn’t an issue just mental lapses and turnovers due to being too cute and allowing Bulls to get out in transition.

I’ll be impressed when he calls himself out for his awful rotations

He has no self awareness. He keeps taking about a time out he called in the third like that's all he can do!

And I am coming around to the argument that Tatum and Brown aren't a great fit together. Too often it seems "your turn/my turn" with them, and it's unclear how much either of them really elevate the play of those around them. Both seem like very good individual stars, but it's unclear to me that they're actually stars that make their team significantly better, even when they're not scoring.

Not sure either (a) which one you trade, or (b) who you'd trade them for that'd be realistic and make sense.
You get rid of the coach and try another approach before you go that route.

Keep them and fire the coach if it comes to that.

First real season Tatum and Brown take the reigns, no Kemba no COVID no Kyrie.

Edit: Kuberski beat me by a second.

what I don't get is how some people can say Ime doesn't have anything to do with our losing these games.
ie 'he is just a 1st year coach' 'gotta give him some time'  all of these type of statements.

We are 7 games in, Ime looks over his head, he can't make meaningful adjustments, he can't seem to do much to inspire our players.  Literally by every metric we are worse than we were last year, but our roster (based on almost everyone on this blog) is better than last year.  I know it is a players league, but why even have a coach if they can't make a difference.

Ime looks like he has been outcoached on at least 4 of our losses.  In the NBA the coaching should be a net neutral, or at least not be an active negative to the team.

One of the main problems is both play at different paces. Brown thrives with pace in the open court and Tatum is more methodical.

Keep telling y’all..need to ship out one of Brown and Tatum they don’t play well together….Brown was hot but Tatum needed his touches. Tatum’s touches never come in the flow of the game.

Yep, I've been saying this for a while. Hopefully we can have that conversation without being laughed out of town now..

Tatum's value is probably still maxed out right now...

  • GOT IT!!!
Wow that’s a choke job. I thought Ime was supposed to be a defensive coach? Doesn’t appear that the team cares to play any.

Neither are natural playmakers which is a problem. I was really hoping for Lonzo this off-season because I really do think with a real  pass first PG they’d be good together.

One word - entitlement.

We keep doing this crap, Ime, because our guys are entitled and haven't been held accountable for years now. They think they don't have to play hard the whole game, because they've never been forced to in recent years. They've formed bad habits, and it's really hard to break them now.

Not that Ime is doing much better, but I'm thinking some tough love is in order. No other way you're going to break this. Tatum wants to complain to the refs, pout, and not run back? Sit him the rest of the half. Brown wants to daydream defensively and get lost when not guarding the ball? Yank him.
