You also could've got them at 16-1 to miss the playoffs.
I am very surprised  they are going to miss the playoffs. I would not have made that bet. I expected a 5th-8th seed team (most likely outcome).

Crazy that there are 2 teams from 2022 on that list...what does that mean?

Statmuse had posted that since preseason title favorites were first announced before the '84-85 season, the top two teams have never failed to miss the playoffs.

These Lakers were the number 2 favorite and the first team to achieve this.  Number 1 heading into this season?  The Nets.

This is a historical failure.

I’ve been selling hard on the Lakers.  There’s no easy (read: 100% legal so I don’t lose my government job) way for me to put a decent sum of money on the under for the Lakers win total this year, while living in Mass, is there?

Man I wish I’d figured out how to place this bet.

For future reference, I am 99.9% positive that next time you want to do this you can drive to New York, New Jersey or PA and place the bet when you are in the state. If it wins, you go back into the state and cash out. Could be a couple of fun overnight trips. Additionally, a lot of the big sites like MGM, DK or Fan Duel will give you a free bet or some kind of bonus if you sign up. It is basically just like flying to vegas to place a bet.

I will admit I will still be surprised if the Nets don't make the playoffs. It seems likely they would have to lose two in a row. They have obviously underachieved but pretty sure they went a long stretch of games where they were without harden, irving or durant and that is when they really plummeted (if it was like 7 games in a row against the west and teams like the kings and led to some silly crowing in the conference debate).

Good to know, as I’m typically in NY State every Labor Day, and back again for Passover.  Perfect for placing the over-unders.  The four I would have placed this year were under on Lakers and Knicks and over on Celtics and Raptors — would have hit all four.  Hopefully my instincts are as spot on for next season.

At those odds I might’ve laid down $20.  Oh well.  Next year.

Fakers are 17 games under .500.

17!!!

Given the world of unsatisfaction this place was for being .500 for 1-1/2 seasons, can anyone around here imagine the amount of anger and vitriol this place would be if the Celtics were 17 games under .500?

Lakers are lucky they won't catch as near as much crap as they should in LA because their fans are so fairweather.

On the latest injury report, the 76ers list Matisse Thybulle as “ineligible to play” tomorrow’s game in Toronto.

17, like the amount of titles they pretend to have.

So plenty of blame gonig out to LeBron, Westbrook, even Davis as well as Pelinka and Buss. How about coach?  I like Frank Vogel and I think he’s a good coach, but given all those all-stars I think some blame should go his way too.

I know the pay check is large ,  but I’d be ready to get the heck out of dodge .

I'm guessing everyone else is vaxxed. Hopefully it might work out for a Raptors/76ers series...if Thybulle can't show up in Toronto lol.

Or it'd also be nice to let them face the Nets. Builds more drama and intensity between the two Atlantic foes.

Very early, but Nets down 5. Boy if the Knicks could pull off the upset I'd be stoked
