weird to phrase it that way until you realize Wilt scored 1992 points in a season that he had 1952 rebounds and 702 assists (he had another season of 1956 points, 1957 rebounds, and 630 assists).  Oscar missed the rebounds by 15 one year as well.

Marc Stein has been floating the Hornets as a landing spot for Westbrook this summer.  I suppose if they are done with part-time Hayward there could potentially be a deal there, and Jordan acquiring a "star" like Westbrook would definitely fit his m.o.

Feel like part time Hayward would help a team more than full time Westbrook. Dude is just empty calories. Hornets are finally putting a decent product on the floor, doubt they sabotage themselves by trying to add Russ.

Yeah rumor is that lakers may just stretch Westbrook to try and resign Monk. Don’t think their is a Calvary on the way to help them. Either trade Lebron or AD or another year of mediocrity.

Chances of that happening are zero.  They are not having a $16 million dead cap hit on the books for three years so they can offer Monk the big MLE instead of the little MLE.

Mark stein disagrees

The Lakers, league sources say, have not ruled out simply parting ways with Westbrook via the waive-and-stretch provision.

A straight release of Westbrook that essentially transforms his mammoth player option for next season into what lives on their books as a three-year deal in the $15 million range annually would move the Lakers out of luxury-tax territory and make it far easier for them to retain free agent-to-be Malik Monk, who at times has unexpectedly appeared to be the Lakers’ most dependable player not named LeBron James throughout a nightmarish 31-48 campaign.

Facilitating Monk’s return might be reason enough for the Lakers to go this route and is expected, league sources say, to be under consideration.

Yeah… I’m going to stick with my original assertion.  Essentially that means being willing to tie up $26 million in payroll for three years to sign Malik Monk, the majority of which is untradeable.  Is Monk that hot a commodity that he’s really going to command the full MLE in a year where a large number of teams won’t even have the full MLE to spend?

Not happening, but I’d be totally happy if it does.

Just 5 players in the entire league have played in every game.  The fewest number in NBA history.

Deni Avdija
Saddiq Bey
Mikal Bridges
Kevon Looney
Dwight Powell

Saddiq Bey....Oh my goodness just what could have been ... imagining Bey with Grant on the floor would have been awesome...instead i keep seeing Bust Nesmith who has been a dissppointment in yr 2 and still not cracking 30% from three...yikes.

It's crazy to me that fans of the team with Grant Williams, Jaylen Brown & Rob Williams (+ formerly Avery Bradley, Terry Rozier) on it repeatedly declare 2nd year players "busts."

Heck, even Payton Pritchard in January.

Yeah, this is nice affirmation that Chicago is the most desirable 1st round matchup, it just likely mean you have the Bucks in round 2 without home court. I’m ok with finishing in any spot at this point because playing the Nets means home court vs the Bucks, and the #4 seed gives us likely the easiest second round matchup vs Miami.

And why you hope you avoid Brooklyn in the 1st round.  Maybe everyone will get lucky and they lose both play-in games (or fall to the 9/10 and lose that).

⁩ projections…

The Celtics first round opponent odds now look like this…

53% Chicago
28% Toronto
7% Cleveland
6% Brooklyn
4% Atlanta
1% Charlotte/Philadelphia

For the record, a 3-way tie would mean Boston 2, Milwaukee 3, Phily 4

I will be soooo happy when this season is over and I can stop trying to calculate what playoff position the c's will/should/could have based on roughly 64 different outcomes of MIL/BOS/PHI/TOR/ATL/BRK games.

Strikes me as odd that they have Cleveland more likely than Brooklyn to be 7. The teams play tonight at Brooklyn and if Brooklyn wins, they have the tie-breaker. I'm assuming that the chart is relying heavily on a back-test.

Assuming we're three, I hope that the 2-7 matchup goes 7 games. I think we would beat Chicago in 5, so TL could have a couple extra days of recovery.
