The #Hornets sign @Isaiah Thomas to a second, 10-day contract. When they played the Celtics earlier this week, Charlotte lost by 14 points but were +5 with Thomas on the floor which was tops among Charlotte reserves that game.

People harping about Max Strus but Javonte Green isn't exactly a scrub with the Bulls

Great game between Minny and the Heat.

Minny are much improved with Edwards and McDaniels

I was hoping Bulls would lose but another separation from the Cavs isn't too shabby.

Knocking off the Heat on the road is impressive

Warriors are putting a beat down on the Bucks and they still don’t have Draymond back.

Why would the Lakers shut Lebron down? They are in the play in tournament and don't own their pick.  Now maybe if they get eliminated from the play in shutting him down makes sense but there is literally no benefit to shutting him down now.

I understand this is a hypothetical discussion and there is zero chance they will till he is eliminated. But there are very logical reasons to shut him down. By all accounts his knee is bad and an overuse injury. I don’t think anyone thinks they have a realistic chance of beating the nuggets, warriors and suns in succession on the road if they somehow win the playin. So this is an element of risk for no real reward. He could have a much better season next year and maybe even get a surgery if they shut him down now. So there are some clear benefits.

If he doesn't need surgery, then the off season is plenty of time for him to heal and by all accounts he doesn't need surgery.  So shutting him down now serves no actual benefit except to avoid future injury, but if that is the reason you shut players down, then no one would play ever.

1-5 is pretty much separating from the rest of the East at the moment. Granted, the Nets are still super scary when healthy, but with how much time is left in the regular season I think they'll stay the 8 seed and be in the play-in tournament.

Still think ultimately, 4 seed is the best play here. Get HCA 1st round against probably Chicago, then get Miami in all likelihood and have BKN/MIL/PHI beat each other up.

I think BKN is very likely getting the 7 seed after the play-in tournament, so if we get the 4 seed we have no way of playing them until the ECF at earliest. Same with PHI/MIL if they stay the 2-3 seeds.

Durant is still a top level scorer but since he's been back he doesn't look like he can defend like the Durant of old. Maybe he turns that up in the playoffs but The Nets look like a bad defensive team. I guess they hope to just outscore everyone.

Yeah I feel like lately though, it's becoming very hard to just win a championship by "outscoring the other team". You have to play some defense. Even those Warriors teams in the mid-2010s had an underrated, but sound defense with guys like Klay and Draymond, and a few others.

Ironically though, the Nets not having HCA in many of their playoff series could be good for them, because Kyrie can't play in the home games. So on the road, they'll have KD + Kyrie, but at home it's just KD and as we're seeing in games like today, KD has to put up monster numbers to win them games. But it also seems to be compromising his abilities on defense a bit.

Man how are the hawks down 15 to a blazers team that had to sign Dunn to a hardship contract before the game

An F-1 was just called on Jamychal Green against Embiid in Nugs-6ers. I don't think that came anywhere CLOSE to be flagrant.
