In his first media appearance as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, Davis Bertans was asked about what went wrong with his former club the Washington Wizards. The shooting specialist didn't hold back about the problems in Washington.

"It's tough to have team chemistry when every single day, the team is basically fighting with each other about 'I want to get more minutes' and 'I want a bigger role.'" Bertans said. "That was probably the biggest part of struggles for most guys during the season. That kinda early on that doesn't show up because everybody's trying to figure out what's going on. Once it starts going downhill, it's really hard to turn around and start going up again."

Bertans joined former teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in calling out locker room issues with the Wizards. Caldwell-Pope and since-traded Montrezl Harrell had to be separated during a game earlier this season when arguing over a play.

That's probably insight regarding why the Lakers gambled on Westbrook, and why the Wizards moved on from guys like Harrell so quickly.  Harrell, in particular, seems to be a selfish player.  I don't envision Dinwiddie as a great team player, either, and KCP / Kuzma are suspect.

To me there is nothing less interesting than the NBA All Star game. I haven’t watched the game since 2009, and feel like I have missed absolutely nothing.
I haven't watched the actual ASG in recent years. The Rising Stars competition is not very good basketball either. Nobody plays defense. I do like the Skills Competition but I don't go out of my way to watch it.  Once in a while I'll watch the dunk contest for pure entertainment.

Agree 100%. Meaningless exhibition.

Harden is out through the All-Star game.  So the talk of him faking an injury to force the trade was pure rubbish.

Get Jaylen in there. Injury replacement.

Jarrett Allen should be first up in my book.

Probably, but they'd be much better off with KCP and Hield on the roster instead of Westbrook.

I believe that it is the right move by Harden to skip the all star game under the circumstances but I am not sure this totally absolves him of the possibility that he was milking the injury some.  He wanted to be traded but didn't want to say he wanted to be traded.  He probably did have some level of injury but also didn't want to play for the team anymore.  Kyrie would go off and play in the all star game but Harden seems to be a little smarter or savvy.

Harden will probably sit out a couple more games for good optics and then start to play much better.

It’s kind of interesting because I feel like Harrell had a reputation of being a hard working good teammate a few years ago. But yeah now he seems to be causing trouble wherever he goes.

There was a report he finally did ask for a trade on the deadline day, but also that he was worried about how it looked to demand a trade two seasons in a row. I think this is him trying to manage his image more than proof he was injured.

I think Harrell is one of those guys who thinks he's better than he is.

Yeah. Drummond and curry were key parts of that trade for him. Aldridge is also back who has been really good for them. I think they will really good second half of season if Durant abs simmons are playing soon.

More like last third of season. The Nets already wasted the start of the 2nd half of the season when they went 3-13 to begin it. 🤣🤣🤣

It felt so good writing that. God, I hate that team!!!
