Kevin Durant the one pulling the trigger on James Harden trade?

By Thursday morning, Durant dialed Nets general manager Sean Marks, sources said. While Durant had initially resisted swapping Harden for Simmons, Harden had finally forced his hand. Brooklyn’s spiral of losses and Harden’s freelancing behavior created an untenable situation. “Kevin’s the one that pulled the trigger with this,” another source with knowledge of the situation said. “Kevin’s the one that said, ‘Do this deal.’ There was growing concern that this entire season would be lost and then they’d lose James for nothing.” – via Jake Fischer @ Bleacher Report

I could see it, but what I find ironic is that it seems KD was a big reason the Nets went out and signed Kyrie and then traded for Harden last season too. And clearly it doesn't seem to be working anymore (Harden traded, Kyrie keeps on crying).

With that said, as long as Simmons shows up and KD can come back healthy the Nets will be fine. Curry and Drummond were underrated, big additions for the Nets and what they needed too. I know it was the Kings but you saw how the Nets looked yesterday even without Kyrie.

DeRozan is not a guard unless you think Ball or LaVine is a forward.  And with the injuries Caruso and Green have also been starting.  Yesterday, they started White, Dosunmu, and Green with all the guys out, so DeRozan basically started at PF.  bball-ref says he has played 6% at SF, 84% at PF, and 10% at C.  No guard minutes at all on the season.  In other words, DeRozan is as much a NBA guard as I am.

You will see a lot of times teams start with 3 guard lineups.  That positional percentage breakdown is meaningless.  Put it this way, he plays more like a two guard or small forward than a power forward.  Kind of like Jaylen Brown, who is similarly sized.
but he is guarding PF's and playing more on the interior.  He was the 2nd biggest starter for the Bulls and was so, by a wide margin.  He isn't a guard.  He wasn't a guard in San Antonio either as last year they were starting Murray, Johnson, and White/Walker.  So he was basically the starting PF for the Spurs last year as well (Poeltl/Aldridge were the starting centers).  The year before that the Spurs started Murry and Forbes (White also got a bunch of starts), so he was a SF or PF that season.  His first season in S.A. Forbes and White were the starting backcourt with DeRozan at SF.  DeRozan hasn't been a guard since he played in Toronto in the 17-18 season.

Sure, but let’s not make it sound like he can’t or has not played the 2, because he 100% has and was successful at it while in Toronto.

Do you view JB as a SG or a SF?
Brown plays both just as DeRozan did for several years, but as DeRozan has aged he has lost a step and he can't guard SG's anymore, which is why he hasn't played that position in years.  He, quite simply, is not a guard anymore.

To replace Harden in the ASG, Adam Silver selected Jarrett Allen over Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakim and others.

I'm in a Twitter war with a Raptors fan, over who should take LaVine's spot on AST, Brown or Siakam.

Convince him that Siakam should, so the C’s can sign a full compliment of players the rest of the way.

I’m a fan of JB, but he really hasn’t been playing that well lately. Seems disengaged at times on both ends. With that in mind, I’m not sure he deserves to get in over those other guys.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Brown has the scoring numbers, but I'm not even sure if he has been the second best player this season.
I might give that edge to Timelord.

Ha.  Yeah.

Plus, gun to my head, Siakam has had a marginally better year.

I just realised that, if you VS Brooklyn in the playoffs, you DON'T want homecourt.

They get homecourt, you get 1 less Kyrie game lulz

This is why Brooklyn doesn’t want the 7-seed in the play-in game.

Is there anyway that the Nets and Sixers could both end up in playin games and lose. Because that would be so great, in every way that it could be great.

I doubt it happens but one can dream.

I know but I kind of enjoy trolling Raptor fans.  They are crazier than we are.

Would be nice lol. I do think there's a real chance that between BKN, MIL and PHI, 2 of those teams play each other in one of the early rounds and knock the other out. Maybe even a scenario where say, BKN plays MIL 1st round then PHI 2nd round if the seedings work out that way.

I'm expecting BKN to stay in the play-in range (7 or 8 seed), PHI and MIL to probably be 2-3 (or 1-2 depending on how CHI and MIA finish) and Boston can probably get the 4 seed.

Man blazers general office must be getting p---ed. Blazers will somehow win again tonight. They blew up their team cause their draft pick goes to Chicago unless it ends up in the lottery. Imagine if they beat the slop at bottom west in a playin and lost the pick.
