Sources: Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is expected to be shut down for the remainder of the season. Ball has been rehabbing from meniscus surgery in late January, but continues to feel discomfort amid several recovery methods to return to action and a bone bruise in his knee.

Yeah, the Bulls were 27-13 when Lonzo went down, and are 18-20 since.  His loss has been huge for them.

If the Spurs beat the Nuggets and the Suns beat the Lakers then the Lakers are OUT. On national TV. Please god, let that happen.

Houston could be heroes tonight if they can somehow upset Brooklyn. Charlotte and Atlanta need to hold strong.

BKN has one of the easiest schedules left with only one playoff team (CLE) and they won't have to travel. It appears likely they'll be in the 7 vs 8 play-in game.

Atlanta can clinch the 8 seed by going 2-2.  That should be doable with the Wizards and Rockets remaining.  The Nets are playing for 9th.

Unfortunately for them, no, they are only a game ahead of Brooklyn and Charlotte. Brooklyn owns the tiebreaker over Atlanta,  while Atlanta currently holds the tiebreaker over Charlotte due to a .5 game conference record advantage. If the two teams finish tied in conference record Atlanta wins the tiebreaker due to record vs eastern playoff teams.

In a 3-way tie Charlotte wins, followed by Brooklyn.

So basically the Hawks need to go 3-1 if Brooklyn goes 3-1. And they probably can afford to drop 1 game ro Charlotte. But they drop all the way to 10th if they go 3-1 while Brooklyn and Charlotte go 4-0.

My mistake.  For some reason I had in my head that Atlanta won the season series.  Must have misread a score when I checked a week or so ago.

Still, with only four games left, the odds favor Atlanta at least equaling Brooklyn’s record.

BKN winning & Hawks losing at halftime.  Philly crushing the Pacers.  Heat up 10 on CHA at the half and CLE down 5 after 3

I'm having trouble figuring out how Brooklyn doesn't end up in the 8 seed. They've got a cakewalk schedule for the rest of the way, while Atlanta has Toronto and Miami. In theory, if Miami is 2+ games up, they may sit their starters vs Atlanta, but I don't see Atlanta knocking off Toronto tonight. Charlotte also has Miami tonight. If they can somehow get by Miami, they should win the last three. But if Brooklyn goes 4-0, Charlotte goes 3-1 and Atlanta goes 2-2, Brooklyn is the 8-seed.

My hope is that Cleveland goes into Brooklyn in a few weeks needing a win to lock in their seed. Maybe we'll get lucky and they lose to Orlando, which puts that much more pressure on them.

I've got BKN @ CLE in the 7/8, and CHA @ ATL (I think ATL holds the tie-breaker.). Ultimately, I think Brooklyn ends up at 7.

My head is way too fried too play out the top half of the bracket.

Nothing really falling in the Celtics favor tonight although I guess a Chicago loss does help with a top 4 seed but a MIL loss would've been sweet.

CLE lost at ORL and has @BRK and MIL left. This is a big win for BRK to get into the 7 vs 8 playing for a possible 7th seed. CLE has lost 7 of 9. Fultz actually started his 1st game of the season and looked pretty good 8-12, 16 points and 6 dimes.

3 min left in the ATL vs TOR game and Atlanta has climbed back to being tied - 102-102.
10 straight points from Atlanta.

If ATL could pull this one out it would be good in trying to keep the Nets in the 8 seed.

Maybe we don't even care who is the 7 / 8 seeds?  Not even sure anymore.

At this point, the only good thing that can happen tonight is ATL beating TOR.

Tied 103-103, 2 minutes to go
