Imo, Gobert is clearly better. What might tip the balance in favour of Ayton going forward is his shooting potential. I mean, he's a career 75.6% FT shooter on 2.5 attempts per game, which is nothing to sneeze at for a 6'11'' Center with a 7' 5.5” wingspan. FT% is usually indicative of shooting potential. Wouldn't be surprised if he develops a 3pt shot next season. In comparison, Gobert's career average from the FT line is 63%.
