Shams: Celtics acquire Josh Richardson for Moses Brown

I assume that means Brad preferred Bruno Fernando to Moses? He was drafted at 34 in the year Moses went undrafted and didn’t play much due to being behind Capella and Onkongwu. So, maybe he still has upside?

He's just another expiring contract. He's shown absolutely nothing thusfar.

At least Moses showed something, even if it was empty stats (who knows), I was semi-excited to see him be a backup-backup

Sum total of the Gordon Hayward trade to Charlotte for the Celtics: In: Evan Fournier to end 2020-21 season (at least), Josh Richardson Out: Gordon Hayward, Jeff Teague, Moses Brown and four second round picks (2 to CHA for the TPE, 2 to ORL for Fournier)

So, arguably we would have been better off letting Hayward walk for nothing.

Terrible move. So much for the takes that Moses and the #16 are even value. Right now Stevens is just shuffling the deck chairs while not actually making the team better.

So we traded #16 for Richardson…awesome

We'll have the flexibility to straight up sign a max FA or trade or whatever we want next summer. Hate to say it, but none of these moves have anything to do with the upcoming season.

So hope a top free agent signs here? I'm not sure I'm willing to waste another year of Brown and Tatum's prime on a maybe.

If you can't get players you want around them, then what options does Stevens have?

Maybe we'll swing and miss, who can tell, but we'll be one of the most attractive places in the league for a FA to sign, or for a veteran star to want to be traded to.

I am happy we longer have to hear about the pretense of Moses Brown's empty stats making him a genuine prospect.

Good lord preach. I stated I thought Moses Brown had about a 10% chance at being a starter someday and people went bananas. He was literally in the Walker/Horford deal to balance out minor details. He was never in the Cs long term plans.

Darn.  would have wanted to keep Brown, but there were a lot of centers on the roster already. 

So Walker, 16 for Horford, Richardson.  That seems like a pretty clear win for Boston in its entirety.

My hope is we’ll get a pick back with this deal also.  In other words, we helped Dallas by taking on Richardson’s deal, we had to send them something to make the deal legal, and we sent them a slightly better something to even out the deal with the pick they were also including for the favor.

Allegedly, we asked Dallas to take on more guaranteed salary, presumably by absorbing Grant Williams. They refused. We pushed Moses Brown on them as a salary dump.

It amazes me that we are so cap conscious that we dumped a prospect who is locked up for several years at below $2 million.
