We are just going to throw waves of really good defenders at opposing team's best guards/forwards. Start the game with Smart on them. Rotate Josh Richardson on them. Scrap minutes given to Kris Dunn. All three of which are expirings looking to prove themselves for their next contract.
TP to defensewinschamps as Stevens gets roster out of "recovering from Ainge's attempts to build a super team" and starts to build a bunch of tough defenders around two already tough defenders (the J's).
Agree the team could use another frontcourt presence as Horford and Robert will miss a lot of minutes. The team is a little smallish, but bigger than last season.
Agree that Stevens is pushing a lot of buttons with a veritable fleet of expiring contracts.
I think they are going to wing it this year and make the 3rd superstar move next season.
I will say one thing with Richardson, Smart and Dunn (if they aren't traded)? These guys are going to wreck opposing back courts and the NBA is pretty heavy on back court play these days. I like this bunch in the playoffs....
