I would think bye bye Carsen Edwards maybe, possibly Grant or Dunn is getting flipped.  Maybe we will get lucky and it's all 3.  I would say Most likely Dunn and Carsen to open up roster spots.  If this is the case then the C's should have 2-3 open spots to sign Yam and 2 FA's.

Could we expand to include Cavs?
Dunn, Romeo, Grant plus a pick for Sexton and Nance.

Sexton fits on a tpe from kemba trade and would add scoring to team. He is an expiring and could fit well with jays and if he doesn't....it's an expiring.

Idk sextons value honestly

The Boston-Atlanta-Sacramento three-team trade has yet to go official. Hearing this morning that there have been some discussions on expanding the trade or tweaking the deal some. Teams remain on course to complete the trade today, before the league year changes over.

This is a 2020/21 season/payroll deal that save $3M. If it doesn’t get done, we become a taxpayer due to the Richardson deal. I don’t think it can change all that much and must get done today.

Sexton is a starter and the Cavs were at one time very high on him - mostly due to his intensity and leadership. They wouldn't take that package for him.

I like the idea of adding another rotation big. Time will tell what happens, I guess.

Well there were rumors they are were looking to flip Dunn again, maybe he's just getting sent out somewhere to save even more money. Don't know why that would have to be part of this deal but its possible.

That’s incorrect.  Luxury tax calculations have frozen.  We have to remain under the hard cap after any deals but that’s it.  Also, the Kanter exception were trying to use, so we can get a full TPE for Thompson, expires tomorrow.

Yea I thought they liked sexton too but after this year it seems they may prefer garland plus they just traded for Rubio??? Expiring I guess...So I have no idea what the Cavs are doing

Teams pay an incremental tax rate based on their team salary as of the team's last regular season game, and whether the team is a "repeat offender," i.e., whether they were also taxpayers in at least three of the four previous seasons (not including the previous season):

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q18

The issue with the Richardson deal is that he's opted in for next year at a higher amount than this year His current salary fits into the remainder of the GH TPE. His contract for next year does not. It's not clear whether the deadline is today or tomorrow.

The tax limit could be an issue in 2021/22 but only if we sign Fournier. For 2020/21 we have to count both Richardson and Fournier. That is why they are counting nickels and dime as they close out 2020/21 with these final deals.

No, that’s simply incorrect.  As the quote Colincb cited says, team salary is calculated based on the roster of the last day of the regular season.  You can’t suddenly become a tax team for a trade made on draft night, nor avoid the tax.

They will trade Sexton, but not for that big pile of dung, especially when adding Nance on top of it.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Your most likely going to have to attach assessments to move Grant or Edwards

What a terrible year and summer 2019 was (after that massive disappointment of a season). Irving, Rozier, Morris and Horford leaving for nothing. Signing Walker, perhaps Ainges biggest mistake. Signing Kanter and Poirier, for which we both had to give up a pick to get rid of their contracts. Entering the draft with 3 first rounders and ending up with Langford, G.Williams and Edwards. Ouch.

I don't think they want much for Nance, ithought there were reports where they were looking to dump him.
Sexton is on an expiring deal but yeah worth alot more than the package I put together after reading it seems they want alot for Sexton.

Makes us wonder if we should've just paid IT4 and kept the 2018 BKN pick instead of losing that 2018 BKN pick (eventually Collin Sexton) for Kyrie Irving lol
