Westbrook to L.A?

If this is true, a Beal deal has to come sooner rather than later.

According to Woj a Westbrook deal doesn't signal a Beal trade

Beal's 28. The time is now for him. Building for later???

Yeah, unless Wash has some deal ready to go to build around him for next season that doesn't make sense at all.  Westbrook being traded for peanuts seems like a complete rebuild move.

Washington telling people that Beal wants to stay isn't the same as him wanting to stay.

If Beal stays doesn't he qualify for a super max contract?  Got to think he factors that in. (Washington has had pretty awful luck with those contracts (Arenas, Wall).)

Beal will be eligible for a 35% max extension next summer because of 10 years of experience, so anyone can offer him that.  Washington can offer him more years and raises with Bird rights, but he missed qualifying for the Supermax a couple of seasons ago.

At least it's over.

This is potentially good news for us.  He may want to just wait for free agency.  I would not wait if I was WAS though.

I agree. Trade him now to the highest bidder instead of trying to convince him to stay with a bottom-5 roster

Detroit is finalizing a trade to send C Mason Plumlee and the No. 37 pick to Charlotte for the No. 57 pick, sources tell ESPN.

Feels like Detroit could've gotten value for Plumlee.
This borderline infuriates me, Plumlee is such a good role player and his high-post playmaking would have been so good alongside the Jays. And of course, once more, the Celtics stand idly by and watch good role players get picked up on the cheap, doing nothing.
Both Horford and Timelord are better passers with high quality playmaking in their repertoire. There was no need for Plumlee once Horford was back on the team. Heck, if Al and Robert are healthy, the combo should put up 20-22 points, 15-17 rebounds and 5-6 assists per game from the center position for the team. They are both much better fits on this team than the big, but very immobile Plumlee.

Plumlee is not immobile? That isn't reflective of the way he plays defence. I would have flipped Williams (and TT) to shore up the forward spot if that was the price for Plumlee.

I like that as well. Literally no idea how to make that work though. How could they get him?
