The current status is that we have traded Tristan Thompson for Josh Richardson, Kris Dunn, and Bruno Fernando. There may be some additional news regarding these trades but it does not appear that we have any other players going out. The result is that all 15 roster spots are currently filled along with 1 of 2 2-way spots. We eliminated one Center which is good and I guess we did add a PF. Here is where we stand
Smart Dunn Pritchard
Brown Richardson Edwards
Tatum Nesmith Langford
Parker Fernando GWilliams
Horford RWilliams MBrown
Or something like that. I have Parker starting at PF over Richardson starting at SG but there are of course other variatinos. Langford or Nesmith could slot in or maybe Bruno Fernando will have a break out year.
The next move has to be for a PF though I would think. We can still sign and trade Fournier along with other players to get back a currently signed PF (ideal as then no hard cap) or in a double sign and trade (but then hard capped). We could also target Ball or another PG upgrade, or both.
By my count, we are about $6M under the apron (the potential hard cap value). So if we bring in a S&T (like Ball) we would have to send out Smart and/or other salary. If we do a S&T the other way using Fournier, we could bring back say Myles Tuner and be over the apron but not hard capped (not suggesting Tuner, just providing the example).
I like the Thompson for Dunn + Fernando (and save some money) deal, it gives us something for Thompson, but I don't like the Josh Richardson trade/acquisition if it costs us Fournier and we don't get anything back (even a TPE). I would have rather just signed Fournier. Fournier may have a deal he likes and does not want Boston, in which case, grabbing Richardson and maybe still getting a TPE is not a terrible outcome.
