Moses Brown trade irritating

One guy is a legit 7'2 C.  The other is a 6'9-6'10 3rd string center. 

Celts go from having someone with "endurance" at the center spot to be able to play extended mins.   To injury/load management potential problems

That Walker deal now looks pretty mediocre.

Neither were going to be any more than 3rd string bigs.

The Walker deal is basically:
IN: Horford, Richardson, Dunn, Fernando $9.2TPE, future 2nd
OUT: Kemba, TT, M Brown #16

That's not too terrible for my mind. I'd rather have Horford and Richardson than Kemba and I'd rather have Dunn & a $9.2m TPE than Thompson. We could never have had #16 and Brown.

Don't get the fascination with Moses. Slow-footed behemoths w/o 3pt range aren't starting material anymore. Best case scenario, we are talking about a serviceable backup Center. Worst case scenario, he gets constantly killed on switches and he's out of the league in no time.

You still can use a big to grab rebounds, protect the rim, is not injured all the time.  Brad is allergic to legit bigs.  ... this is why he kept going back to 6'8 Theis. Who got brutalized on the interior at times

You did not actually just say that Moses Brown is mobile, did you? He's a hopeless perimeter defender.

In regard to your second question, it's called Pace and Space - Lopez provides both vertical spacing with his ability to be a lob threat and perimeter spacing with his shooting. Moses Brown can only provide vertical spacing. Lopez is also much better defensively than Brown.

Question isn't whether Brown is better than Lopez, it's whether Brown is better than Fernando, and to me, the answer is yes. I would have sent Fernando to Dallas rather than Moses Brown.

1st Lopez has been in the league a long time now.  In most cases, vets will be better defenders just via experience

The point was about pace/space defense.  Not offense.  Defensively Lopez is not anymore mobile or can jump higher etc.  Again its his experience that is most to his advantage

The tearing up Moses Brown ... is interesting. Imo he has the physical tools to be effective like a Clint Capela or Jarrett Allen

I liked the idea of Moses being a big, tough rebounder but I was always skeptical of why OKC was cool with throwing him into a trade. They're looking for young assets, isn't he exactly the type of player they'd want?

And now Boston has shipped him out as filler as well. And, from the reporting, it's not because Dallas wanted him only that they didn't want to take on more salary than that.

So whatever feelings we have about his potential, at least 2 NBA teams have given him a look and said they don't care to keep him around.
