So in effect, our 1st round pick turned into Josh Richardson. I’m OK with that.
So is it a 1st and Kemba for Horford, Richardson and a 2nd? Kind of wish we had Kemba and TM3 instead. Beal better happen.
Just the way I look at now, it was basically Kemba for Horford. Brown and the 2nd were never the point of the trade (so all the moaning in this thread about ‘losing’ Brown is puzzling). The price to take on the Kemba contract was a 1st round pick which in turn was compensated by taking back Brown who turned into Richardson. It’s just the way I view the deal.
I did like Moses as a return for the 1st because Kemba for Horford and a 2nd is terrible value (unless we do something with Horford's contract next year). Kemba was still a 18 pt guy easily, good ball handler, and clutch ft shooter.
If you really hated Kemba and TT this was epic work by BS but basketball value it wasn't good.
Kemba, 16, and TT for Dunn, Richardson, Horford, and a 2nd. Dunn and Horford were held out for almost a whole year who knows what either has in the tank. Richardson has been regressing the last two years. C's should of gotten a 1st or two between all these trades.
Didn’t we get a TPE too? So really it’s…
OUT: Kemba, TT, #16
IN: Horford, Richardson, Dunn, 9Mn TPE, future 2ndI don’t think it was such a gamble. Those are a bunch of “negative” assets in that trade. All the GM’s involved did what they’re paid to do: buy low
If Richardson was trending in the right direction, if Al was playing like an allstar, if Kemba was completely healthy and made All-NBA 3rd team again, if TT was playing like a monster inside… they probably wouldn’t have been traded like this.
But instead, we have a regressing Richardson, a “cooked” big Al, a hobbled Kemba and a locker room problem/overpaid TT.
