WOAHHHH!!!

I didn’t see the Kemba trade happening this soon! I guess a lotta us on here weren’t crazy after all lollllll

Congrats to the posters who mentioned Horford before as a trade target. I think that was Roy H for sure. I can’t remember other posters as of the moment

Not to brag, but I think I was the first to obsess over dumping Kemba for Big Al, dating back to almost a year ago.

I'm hearing that Horford can be released this season, freeing up cap space. Any truth in this?

Nope.  Next summer we can release him and only be on the hook for $14.5 million.  It makes him a decent trade chip.

I approve the trade. But Moses Brown is a project.  He is not ready to contribute meaningful bench minutes.  He will spend a lot of time in G League.

He would not be a good pick at 16 in this draft. At best he would go late in 2nd round, or undrafted. Just keeping it real.

If Moses Brown is a project despite averaging 9 PPG and 9 RPG last year in the NBA, what does that make Langford and Nesmith?

Fact: Moses Brown had as good of a season last year as Robert Williams, if not better. And it was only Moses’ first season in the league.

In all likelihood, Moses is our next starting center. Timelord may be traded given the dollars he will seek next off-season. I’d like to see us move Timelord and TT for a versatile 5 who can also play the 4. Our front-court would be set with a guy like that, Moses, Big Al, Jabari and Tatum—maybe even good enough to slot Tatum back at the 3 where he truly belongs.

Smart and TT to Toronto for S&T Kyle Lowry. 2 years $25 Million

Is there a world where Steven’s can pull this off?

And I agree with some folks stating that Moses Brown is easily the 16th pick (or better) of this years draft

That’s how I’m looking at it.  We’re getting a young, long prospect that has the benefit of having been around NBA teams for two seasons.

A lot of folks liked Kai Jones or Isaiah Jackson.  Brown should be better than them for the next two years.

Yes, there’s likely to be somebody who long-term ends up significantly better than Brown available at #16.  However, finding that specific prospect is a crap shoot.

yup. Plus the time/development it will take for it to happen (if it does)

Brown got the benefit to play a ton of mins for OKC last season. Help accelerate his development.

Apparently he gained 10 + pounds of muscle from draft to last season. Which shows his dedication at the gym

I'm not expecting anything crazy.  Celts probably got themselves Poetl type

I will take it!

Love this trade.

We get to salary dump Kemba Walker, got Al Horford who we sorely missed, and get a decent prospect in Moses Brown?

Great job, BRad!

naw

from one bad shooter to another

Smart injur(ies) last season. Plus regression on D... plus his abysmal FG shooting percentage... I just don't see high in demand

Maybe something like  Smart for Harris and two 2nd round picks

Have to agree! I think the Celtics and some of their fans, are the only ones who thinks Smart has real value!

Does this say anything about the narrative that Brad loved small ball and shyed away from bigs?  Could that mentallity have been more driven by Ainge if anything?  Brad definitely made mention of being to small in the playoffs.

I didn't think a first rounder would be necessary for a Horford/Walker swap unless we were getting someone like Dort in return.  However, I am glad he acted swiftly on this.  We have been burned by waiting for just the right opportunity to arrise.  Let's see how the proactive approach works.

Inrigued by Brown.  Look forward to future threads tracking his progress against those picked 16+.  Unless we can get a first rounder out of a TT trade, I guess this frees up my plans for draft night.
