I like his motor

Been a while since we ve seen a guy that long with seemingly unlimited energy.  He was beating everybody on both teams up and down court …..he just needs ALOT of coaching and rein in some energy …

and look at his current deal... awesome

This clearly signals that Stevens feels our locker room has sorely missed Big Al. It also signals that Stevens would have preferred to pay Big Al rather than bring in Kemba, who was never a good fit in our system (our defense has dropped off a cliff partly because of Kemba). We can now focus on restructuring that final year such that Big Al retires a Celtic.

Fantastic move: Basically Horford for Kemba's albatross contract, and then Moses Brown (a young 10/10 center we desperately need) for a mid first-round pick (would bet heavily that Moses Brown will be better than anybody not taken in the lottery in 2021), with swaps on future second round picks.

Do not be surprised if the next move is a mega trade involving Jaylen Brown and/or Marcus Smart. My bet: Brown, Smart and picks for Lillard. Dame Time combined with Tatum is a duo that could win it all and make us ultra competitive the next 5-8 years (Lillard is only 30 and keeps himself in John Stockton-esque shape).

Finally we get a healthy BIG 7 footer …..not one with college issue ,  life long issues ,  back issues , …Danny was too freakin cheap …..getting damaged goods others passed on . 

Danny getting used up worn out stars who can’t get off the bench and short little guys who are hurt and can t defend .

now Brad needs to make a trade for the BEST point guard in the NBA ……give him the keys and pair him with Tatum …….then …Embiid or Kat will want to join this pair .

I love the trade. Immediately ball movement and passing improve. Not to mention defense and BBIQ. Al had a solid season last year.

We also received a young center in Moses Brown that played pretty well last year too, and at 21 is still growing.

I'm not crazy about Smart starting at PG, it dilutes his true value off the bench. Other than giving Prichard a shot at running the team, they should be looking for a decent PG who can defend. (Not named Edwards.)

who knows what happens to Smart.  He will be a UFA after next season.... just due to this factor, may force Brad to trade him

or keep him for another playoff run attempt

Would GS trade its 14th pick in draft for Smart, if Davion Mitchell were to slide there?

That’s how I’m looking at it.  We’re getting a young, long prospect that has the benefit of having been around NBA teams for two seasons.

A lot of folks liked Kai Jones or Isaiah Jackson.  Brown should be better than them for the next two years.

Yes, there’s likely to be somebody who long-term ends up significantly better than Brown available at #16.  However, finding that specific prospect is a crap shoot.

Absolutely, finished the season with the 24-18 reb and 7 blocks. Quite a few double-doubles if you examine the game log. Games of 20 pts 12 reb, 21 pts and 23 reb., 19 pts 12 reb, 20 pts 16 reb. 5 blk.

I agree Brown would not be good enough to equal the value of the #16 pick but I would still put his talent level in the range of a late first or early 2nd. He just signed a great cost controlled contract and I really like him as the Cs 3rd big.

I hope we see Thompson moved, R Williams as a 20mpg starter, AL as the 20mpg 6th man/game finisher, G Williams get more small ball 5 minutes, and Moses is the 3rd Center who players a larger role when AL rests or in case of injures.

I think he’s going to be sixth man of the year putting in 20-24 MPG and averaging 10/8/6 per game. The dude is in great shape. Karl Malone was still MVP-caliber at Horford’s age, and clearly Horford tries to model his conditioning/physique in a similar fashion.
