While true, Danny also had 18 years of NBA experience, both playing and coaching. He was involved with four different franchises. He'd also had a close up view of the NBA for a couple of years broadcasting. Even after a lifetime in the NBA, Danny had growing pains as a GM, making some notable missteps early on.
I'm skeptical. Brad got burnt out coaching his team. He seemed to have a hard time relating to NBA players, and certainly seemed risk averse regarding the type of guys we'd bring in. None of that sets him up to be a great executive in my mind.
