Monty Williams needs to figure out something with Booker, he can't let Beverley dictate that match-up as it is. Particularly, don't know how you can keep having Booker running your plays and bringing up the ball with Beverley up on him.

I'm sure the mask also is playing a bit into his discomfort, in this particular game, but Beverley has his number and I don't see Monty doing any adjustment for it.

That is Giannis so far this post-season and Shaq only during the 2000-2002 playoffs when the Lakers blitzed just about everyone and Shaq won 3 Finals MVP's and is widely regarded as one of, if not, the most dominant playoff runs the game has ever seen (again during those 3 seasons only).

Shaq also put a lot of pressure in your big men depth, he got everyone into foul trouble or fouled out. That was one of the main problems for teams.

Shaq was playing 42.3 minutes per game during that stretch, which is amazing looking back at it considering both what players play now and this was when Shaq was out of shape.  According to Shaq (so very possibly exaggerated) he was 345, 365, and 395 during his 3 Lakers titles, and this Washington Post article from 2003 claims he was playing at 380, so maybe Shaq's not exaggerating (that much).

Unsure how different the number of possessions are, but Giannis is only playing 38.9mpg so far in these playoffs, so on a per minutes basis his numbers are even better.

The current NBA has warped my memory though, amazed Shaq could consistently put up those minutes for an entire playoff run, and in back-to-back-to-back years too.  Truly a beast.

I think per possession numbers will favor Shaq a lot more. The difference in pace between the eras is significant.

Shaq was a true monster. He certainly made a difference including how the game was called, played and even how teams built their rosters. He was a reason why so many big men busts were drafted in the 2000s
