Im hoping the Warriors would upset the Fakers for the 7th seed.
I want LA to face the Jazz and get an old fashioned smackdown...if the Fakers get 7th seed im afraid they will make history bu being the first 7th seed to beat a top 2 seed.
The only way the Lakers do not win a 1st round series is if they lose their next 2 games.
Well this didn’t turn out like you thought.
LeBron fandom can be blinding.
Just a bit.
Ah yes, because Davis getting hurt again was a guaranteed thing. The Lakers were up 2-1 and were rolling until Davis went down. They didn't win again. Injuries always change the outlook of a series. I would have picked the Suns to win if Davis was ruled out before the series began because the Lakers need Davis to be that team (they probably could have gotten by a few teams, but the Suns are balanced and deep and a bad match-up for the Davis less Lakers).
I picked the Sixers to beat the Hawks as well, but if Embiid can't go that changes that series. Injuries aren't predictable and alter a lot.
Yeah, it was completely unpredictable that Anthony Davis, who missed 50% of the regular season, might miss 50% of a series. Also, I believe you predicted a sweep.
I did, probably would have been 5 had Davis not gotten hurt. Game 4 was like a 1 point game when Davis left. I firmly believe the Lakers would have won that game and then closed it out in 5. Injuries happen. Injuries change outcomes.
My mistake. I flagged your prediction when it was made to see what would happen when you were wrong. But I didn't realize you weren't wrong. Ooops.
what are you talking about? obviously the Lakers did not win the series as I thought they would, but they also lost their 2nd best player and the 2nd best player in that series. That stuff matters. The Lakers had no shot at beating the Suns without Davis because they need Davis, both for their own team but in particular in that match-up. And they need Davis far more than the Suns need Paul, though Paul was still able to play. That also matters. The Suns are a young deep team.
If you did a draft of the teams (without Davis and a banged up Paul), Lebron would go first, but Suns would have at least the next 4. Booker, Paul, Ayton, and Bridges and you might even take Crowder before Schroder (and while you wouldn't take someone like Payne over Schroder, Payne was clearly a far better player in the series). Davis not playing changed everything about that series.
