Yeah, I put this more on Stevens and the overall roster construction (Ainge) than I do on Theis. Theis was great for the role he filled and did the best he could. He's a good player and a solid one in this league.
I mean it's not like Theis himself blackmailed Stevens and forced him to play over Timelord in the Heat series. CBS could have put Theis on the bench a bit more then. And if he didn't feel Timelord was ready, then again that's more of a roster issue than Theis. Numerous chances to make an in-season addition last season (including for depth) and they didn't make one.
Again, Theis was fine for the role he played and it's not like he's a scrub.
