Fournier is on an expiring deal and given his large salary I’m sure Celtics were the only team able to trade for him without having to give up a core player. I’d be upset if this is how Ainge uses the TE especially if Fournier walks after this season.

Woj is usually very thorough with his tweets and for him not to mention Gordon most probably means we are out of the running.

I don't think AG is coming to Boston. Why would Orlando do 2 separate deals in the same day for 2 different players. Its probably not going to happen if we get Fournier.

Otherwise, this seems like a solid deal; although I'm afraid these are probably the 'good' 2nd rounders we got from MEM and not ours. Hopefully we are able to re-sign Fournier for a 2-year extension. He's a very good player who should help cover up some of our weaknesses. 6'7" and still only 28.

I'm not as high as others are on the deal. He's the ultimate regular season fraud - he collapses against strong playoff defences and is meh defensively. I would've much preferred trading one 2nd for either Tucker or Ariza but he'll definitely be an upgrade over our bench wings.

I agree and am happy with Fournier as a player.  Good fit for us as wing scoring off the bench.  A real need for us.  I wonder if they have some sense of an extension or resign.  If that is the case, this looks a lot better.  If feel more like this might be shoe #1 of some broader exchange though.  If all they get for $17M of the TPE is a couple of months of Fournier, to me that would be a weak deal.
