Brown had a bad night no question but he his just getting hammered all night long and driving to the hoop all night long and got one foul shot, which he missed. That kind of physical contact isn't allowed on any other all-star player in this league. Harden and Kyrie are getting phantom calls and Brown is repeatedly knock to the ground and just nothing. I think it effects his game. Tatum doesn't need the refs as much as Brown because he has better ways to avoid contact. Tatum gets a weak whistle as well but still finds a way to score. We also need more shooting on the floor to stretch the court. Our open shots were missed at an alarming rate and the bench outside of Smart were not good.

And Brown 5-23. 5-23. 5-23.

Celtics players sure love Kyrie...too bad Ainge didn’t just hand him the team. Big mistake.
They literally gave him the keys to city hall and he quit on them lol

No they didn’t.

You can keep saying that but it doesn't make it true.

Yeah, the Celtics were all in on Kyrie.  Even Wyc said it recently.  They just didn’t realize that he’s insane.

If they were then they would have traded all the youth for vets..they were not ready to do that.

The team was better without Kyrie and made it further in the playoffs without him. He quit like a little baby! I saw him just quit on the team against the Bucks. He was packing his bags during that series and just phoned it in. He was more in the way in those games than anything after telling everyone to just wait for the playoffs.

People do realize that Kyrie and KD admitted that they both spoke at the ASG that year and decided that they were going to play together. From that point on Kyrie was going follow KD to the team of his choosing, which turned out to be Brooklyn. Kyrie did not want to be in Boston and he absolutely quit on the Celtics.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Brown isn’t playing nearly as well as he did in the first two months of the season. I think that’s because the team isn’t meshing and he’s begun looking lost on offense.  They can figure it out though especially if they add someone who can take some pressure/work of the J’s.

Too much agony here. Brown had a brutal game, Kemba a below-average one and the other three starters played well. The Nets have no one who can cover Tatum, and they have a hole at center. Let's hope Drummond doesn't fill it. Kyrie had an elite game. However, our bench lost by 10. Our starters lost by 2 and could have played better.

We need a bench player who can get 10 ppg every night and play decently on defense. Those guys exist without spending $15+ million.

DeAndre Jordan is a hole? KD will be the starting PF and Griffin will get the baxkup minutes for both of them.

And it completely affected the rest of the players.  They were all miserable.  Horford basically said as much after the season.  It will happen in Brooklyn too, but maybe not this season.

I’m not a Kyrie fan by any means, but the guy is a superstar..
He shows up for big games. Wish I could say the same for Kemba.
What big games has Kyrie shown up for recently? His last playoff performance was genuinely terrible. Like, Russell Westbrook tier of playoff choke

This season Kyrie has played well against the better teams in the league and he absolutely torched the Celtics both games. Boston had Smart for both games and he still put up 37 and 40 Pts.
So, regular season games? Kemba had four 37+ point games last season, all against playoff teams. You're inventing some really amazing double standards here.

Kyrie shows up in big games by putting up points in regular season outings, but Kemba doesn't, even though he does the same thing? Ludicrous

If KD is healthy, is there any way that this team doesn't win a ring? Even if AD is back with the Lakers, i just don't see anyone stopping three unstoppable players.

Celts can have Langford and Nesmith both score 10 each

but still Celts can't close with the starting lineup they have.   The only guy able to score at will is Tatum

Can't beat/close it out with players that are unable to raise it to another level with less than 5-7 mins left in the game
they don't have anyone that can score at will.  not even Tatum.  he's just the best shooter.   you are right though that none of our best 3 players can consistently raise their play to another level down the stretch of close games.  they can make 2-3 good plays but they all falter at some point.  as someone else mentioned, they keep going back to hero iso ball instead of playing good team ball on offense

Why did Jaylen Brown play 40 minutes in this game. We desirably need another wing.

Glenn Robinson 3 is a free agent! So is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Would give both those guy's chances as a bench forward

We failed the litmus test. Can't beat that team without KD we got problems. Might as well wait until next year Danny.

Me too unless there’s a bigger move in the works... hopefully.

One game means nothing.  There’s no litmus test.

Brad wanted to see if he could take 25 shots in a game while making only 5?  can within a few attempts of 'accomplishing' that.   ::)
