There is ZERO chance that Danny Ainge is trading for Al Horford, much less trading Kemba for Al Horford. Forget it.
A few weeks ago I would have agreed but at this point Kemba and his contract are trending towards becoming a negative asset.
I didn’t say there’s no chance he trades Kemba. But I do not see Ainge sending a veteran, max player who signed as a FA last year — who WANTED to come to Boston and has been a leader and a model Celtic since — to NBA Siberia.
If Kemba is traded at some point, Ainge will be careful to put him in a good situation he can justify to the player... and just as importantly, to potential future FAs considering singing here.
Oh, and even if it weren’t OKC, he ain’t trading Kemba for an overpriced old big who can’t defend and who walked from the Cs to sign with the Sixers.
