For the sake of debate:

BOS trades:  Kemba, Smart, Langford, 2021, 2023, 2025 firsts

HOU trades:  Harden, Tucker, Boogie

(Boogie couldn’t be traded for a couple of more months)

I’d do it; if you can get a talent like Harden with two years on his contract without giving up the Js I don’t see how anyone can turn that down. Trading Kemba one year into his contract is a bad look and losing Smart would be sad but Harden-Brown-Tatum could be a title favorite.

I haven’t looked at salaries but I’m assuming you’d have to take back PJ Tucker as well? That would make the trade even better.

lolololololololol

really? now you see the light?

Rockets can have anyone but Brown, Smart, Tatum, Teague and Thompson.

That's actually quite a lot to offer. In contrary to most teams who contend we have all our own draft picks and a bunch of promising players on team-friendly rookie contracts. We can offer 4 first rounders (2021-2023-2025-2027) + 3 pick swaps (2022-2024-2026) + 5 drafted first rounders on a rookie contract (Pritchard-Langford-Nesmith-G.Williams-R.Williams).
It would actually be crazy to offer all that  :o.

The problem is what team is interested in taking on Kemba Walker? The Bulls maybe? Or the Knicks?
And if I was Houston I'd want at least one building block (insisting on Brown) instead of a large pile of picks and rookies, which may never produce an All Star.

Well then Danny should tell Huoston, thank you but the Cs are good.

Pass. Not interested in giving up either of Smart or Brown for him, and not sure how a Kemba trade would work, or whether the optics of that are worth it.

I’d prefer exploring a trade for a Draymond, Gordon, or Barnes type with the TPE, probably in that order. I think adding Draymond could put us over the top and give us yet another defensive weapon to throw at the likes of Giannis, Durant, Simmons, Bam, etc.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

There is a pretty obvious smear job going on for Harden's reputation right now. I'm not saying he's an angel, but he's not Kyrie Irving either.

Even so, there's always another unhappy superstar. There has been one every year for years now. The Cs are still in a wait-and-see phase. They have to see what they got in Brown and Tatum. Are they superstars? They have to see if any of the younger guys fit with them. Can they be reliable role players? They can afford to be patient for another year because of the age of those guys.

Think about it like this: what if Robert Williams starts shining more and more this year? What if Langford shows his ability as a two-way wing? Those two guys might not be worth a lot right now, but they also might show their value this season.

Then when KAT or Giannis comes available, or if Jokic suddenly wants out, the Cs would have better players for those trades. Or they could continue to stand pat if those guys prove to be players that can play at a high level around the Js.

Yesterday's game changed a lot for me. Before the game I was ready for the Cs to get Harden but with how the team played last night, Danny can really be patient I loved that big lineup and what Teague did with the second unit. If they keep playimng like that and Romeo/Nesmith contribute...the team will be attractive to future free agents.

I'd love to acquire Tucker, too, but not at the expense of the J's and Smart. I was thinking of a possible 4-way trade something along the lines of:

BOS trades:  Kemba to NY
HOU trades:  Harden to BOS, Tucker to ORL
ORL trades:  Either Fournier or T. Ross to HOU
NY trades:    Randle to HOU

If HArden added the Celtics to his list then he is not as big a moron as I though.

Him, along with Smart, Brown, Tatum and Thompson is a very scary team.

But I only offer Kemba plus picks/youth.
'21 Historical Draft
PG: Kyle Lowry / Mookie Blaylock / Mark Jackson
SG: Reggie Miller / Jeff Hornacek / Nick Anderson
SF: George Gervin / George McGinnis / Kyle Korver
PF: Connie Hawkins / Serge Ibaka / Josh Smith
C: Clint Capela / Bill Laimbeer / Jusuf Nurkic

Guy's got 4 years on his contract at an average of $35 million a year and a chronic bad knee.  What team would want to take that on except for one that needs Kemba to get over the top - maybe like the Celtics?

Give them Walker, our scrubs, and most of our picks for him.

But make sure we keep the J's, Thompson, and Teague.

Last night's game was just only one game that we saw the J's put up 30 respectively.

Let's see if they can consistently put up 25-30 each night for a few games before we think about losing Brown for Harden. Harden's a proven star while Brown is in his 5th year.

That’s a good trade for both sides.

He's got 3 years left on his deal. This year and 2 more.
