You make the trade if you can keep Tatum, Brown and Smart. Otherwise not interested.

Really don’t need Harden..get Kemba healthy & Teague is the perfect vet backup.. just need a vet SG like Eric Gordon & another backup big like Ersan

Kemba will get healthy, I do not know if that means he can take the pounding necessary for a basketball PG.
It appears that he has osteoarthritis in his left knee, which is a degenerative joint disease. If so, he'll never be 100% healthy. From what I read, it's a ''disease that worsens over time, often resulting in chronic pain''. The cartilage around the meniscus in his knee is wearing thin.

Kemba is an undersized explosive guard. He relies on athleticism in order to beat his opponent 1-on-1. It's not like he's a 6'11'' freak like KD who can shoot over his opponents. Remember IT's injury? As soon as he lost his athleticism, he wasn't the same player anymore. Obviously, Kemba is considerably taller, but still, he's undersized.

If I were a rival GM, I wouldn't touch Kemba with a barge pole. It's possible that he'll never return to his old self. Hopefully, he'll still be effective, but chances are he ain't worth a max contract going forward. To put it another way, he probably has negative trade value.

Sigh giving bad max money to bad players.

Character is lacking.   We reached the EC Finals before.  Not sure he can get us over the hump - especially giving up high characters guy like JB and MS to get him.

Remember, this is a guy who needs the ball 20sec/poss to be effective.

exactly.. he can get healthy but not necessarily to be a super efficient point guard. Did Hornets know about this diagnosis? I remember Cs had to give Cleveland additional coompensation when the extent of his injury was revealed as worse than disclosed prior to the deal.

Harden does not need the ball 20 sec/poss to be effective. That just is not true. He played that way because that is what his coaches want or allow.

Another thing with James -

I'd avoid him just because of the DRAMA that'd come with having a Super Star......

Much of this would NOT be on him, but still...

Bad memories still remain from the drama that came with Kyrie.

Additionally -

Would James Harden COMMIT to BOS - beyond the next two years?

It seemed like we were on a TIMER the minute that Kyrie got here....regardless of what he said otherwise.

I think Kyrie MEANT to stay but for various reasons changed his mind.

Don't want no "Two Year Rental" for James.

How did we not know about Kemba's arthritis when we gave him 40 mil? Ainge needs to go lol. Doesn't get anything for Hayward or Kyrie and gives an undersized guard with knee issue a max.

Another reason he needs to go.

that is a question that should be answered. I wonder what kind of physical they run before you ink that kind of F/A contract.

Maybe you need the drama in order to win championships (see KD35 and Warriors, Kawhi Leonard and Raptors, LeBron James and Lakers) now. See how passive and quiet these Celtics are? Gotta fire 'em up and bring some fighting and baggage in the locker room!

It's simple: no Brown, no Harden

The thought of Houston taking Kemba is outrageous: age, knee, contract, position

Ainge is stuck with drawing to, in poker terms, an inside straight. He needs a healthy Kemba and a high quality player from our TPE who is at worst our fourth best player. The latter is probably more likely than the former, but miracles do happen.

After the Nets game, I'm more convinced, even though it's only one game, that both of these things have to happen for us to be a title contender rather than just a very good team.

God Bless K.C.. Saw him play as a pro and coach at Brandeis and in the pros.

The way Brown has played the first two games, I'm not sure I would trade him for anybody. Better to dangle Walker and a few no 1 picks. But then,  Harden is a dominant scorer. If you can't control the paint with a dominant big, the next best thing is have a dominant scorer. But a dominant scorer still doesn't guarantee a championship.

Ainge must decide if he can win with this team. I doubt he can, though I wonder if Harden is the answer. Houston hasn't won with him.

Harden in Portland would be wild. Presumably McCollum + everything besides Dame for Harden

I hope not.  I don’t want to see Dame get poisoned like that.

I don't want to see the Celtics get poisoned like that.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Westbrook averaged 27-7-7 last year and was traded for someone who hasn’t played in 2 years....

Kemba just needs more rest and healing and he will be fine, he is far from damaged goods. Kemba was still an all star last year...I think for some reason we are undervaluing Kemba’s trade value.
