Everyone here who is pro Danny Ainge needs to really take a look at the last 4 years.

He has let 3 All-Stars walk for nothing, the “treasure trove of assets” were never used for a cornerstone player.

If he didn’t draft Tatum, he would be out of a job. Plain and simple.

Danny Ainge blew it. He has alienated free agents, held out in trades, and out of all of the assets, he has always been afraid to take a risk.

What is the point of accumulating talent and draft compensation if you will never be willing to actually deal? Instead he try’s to one over everyone he deals with.

We have conference finals sure, but this team could have very well made moves that lead to the finals.

He needs to move on, it’s time. And it’s time everyone here who is pro Ainge realized the wasted potential that he has not taken advantage of.

We have seen all all the following trades in the past 4 years: Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler. Kristaps Porzingis, Paul George, Russel Westbrook, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and now Jrue Holiday.

I don’t care about contracts, personality’s or the intangibles. You win championships with stars and Danny Ainge didn’t get a single one.

I’m not even going to name the countless starters who have been moved over the years for peanuts.

At least Daryl Morey has balls to try.

DA needs to be fired. Pour yourself a drink, take a reflection and come to the realization that it’s time to move on.

I'm not saying Danny is perfect.

But, I'm willing to argue that Danny is very good. For a long time it was really fashionable to argue that Daryl Morey was the best GM out there. How many championships does he have? (Answer: zero).

The reality is that this is a tough business. You strike out more than you hit a homerun (mixing sports metaphors, maybe?). It's not clear to me what people want -- they seem to want DA to bring in free agents and hit on draft picks. Both of which.... (wait for it).... he. has. done. Has he had his misses on draft picks? Yes. Has he let current players walk with little to show for it? Yes. But he has a strategy that has worked pretty well.
Celtics fan for life.

well, arguably around every other GM in the business.

What's your alternative. Fire DA and hire Pelinka?

Any GM can do well in LAL. Give Danny the Lakers and they probably have 20 banners

He is good and If Wyc and investors just want a competitive team that will make it to atleast the 2nd round of the playoffs year and and out, there is no doubt Danny Ainge is your man.

He won’t win a championship the way he manages. The team will be competitive but as long as he is running the show there isn’t a banner coming this way.

Pacers reporter for the athletic has gone on record saying Hayward would have taken the hometown discount and Ainge was the reason the deal didn’t go through.

https://twitter.com/bigjimmurray?lang=en

This was my assumption all along and got crushed on this forum for even suggesting it. Hayward got compared to Antoine Walker and assumptions were made that 20 mil meant more to him then being with family when the dude is already worth 200+ million

How many reports since before he opted out suggested the deal was in place with Indy, that he wanted Indy? These weren’t beat reporters they were coming from credible insiders like Shams and Stein.

Green teamers need to stop drinking the Kool aid and realize the Celtics front office is broken and needs a change. Ainge royally screwed us by needing to “win” a trade.

Who cares if you don’t like Turner and McDermott they were assets and filled cap space that we can no longer fill. Losing Hayward for nothing is an abomination.

It’s sickening

Still wanna fire him?

Tristian Thompson averaged 12 and 10 on arguably the worst team in the NBA. He is 29, an absolute liability at the end of the game with his FT shooting.

So yes, I’m still on board with firing DA

Absolutely...TT didn’t suddenly make them the favorite for anything. At least Kanter was cheap.

Well we could fire DA and hire Rob Lowe. Maybe other GMs wouldn’t notice.

He's probably the best defensive big man we've had since KG. It's a good acquisition.

100%

I imagine other GMs deal with Ainge like a normal person feels when going to buy a car with a trade in. You know your going to get royally screwed. Why would anyone want to do business with him if they didn’t have to?

Yeah keep trying to justify that everything’s fine. The fact that we haven’t had a decent big man since KG should tell you all you need to know.

Ainge is fast becoming that GM that is so indecisive that he only makes decisions when there are NO options left. What option did he have to Thompson? NONE!!!! And please do not say Baynes.
