Danny should walk away from the table and sign Hayward to a four year deal for 80-90 million. Cs are okay without taking a bad deal from Indy.

He can’t yet.  We need NYK to blow their cap space first.

Do I hear "Do the John Wall" by Troop 41 in the distance?

Wow, I didn't think he would ever see anything like what the Knicks gave him last year, never mind more money for 4 years
I'm bitter.

I really don't get this whole Detroit/Dedmon thing. He has 2 years, $13.3 million remaining. Straight up waiving him would make no sense since it gives you 2 years of massive dead cap (when you could keep him this year and then try to move him next year), but stretching would mean $5.3 million in dead cap for the next 5 years.

Did they seriously learn nothing from paying Josh Smith that much for 7 years?

To avoid making yet another post about this: SERIOUSLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING PISTONS THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. WHY

Just read that Dedmon is only guaranteed $1M in 2021-22. If that's the case, it makes more sense...but it still really doesn't make any sense. That's an awfully big contract to cut w/o attempting to trade him first. It's not like Dedmon is horrible or anything.

Only 1M of the 2nd year is guaranteed so it is only 14.3M stretched over 5 years.  They still didn't learn anything.

Morris making 16 million a year.  NBA money is insane.

If it's non-guaranteed then that's less bad. They would still be able to stretch the guaranteed amount over 5 years, so just under $3 million a season. Had they kept Snell, they would be looking at $12 million in 1 year or $4 million per year for 3. So there's some logic there.

But, yeah, they should have been able to find another home for him
I'm bitter.

Wasn't his $15 million last year because the Knicks gave him more money to take a shorter contract? Getting a raise from that is insane.

He almost signed with the Spurs for 2/$20 million last year, Instead he got 5/$79 million. Dang.
I'm bitter.

Yeah, he got paid, but I'm just talking about relative to other sports or even life.  16 million a year is so much money!  He's a freaking bench player.

1 or 2 years would be okay but who in the heck was going to offer him 4 years.

They probably knew that if they didn’t overpay him he’d sign a vet minimum with the Lakers.

Steve ballmer is worth $78 billion

He could pay Morris $16 million for the next 4,400 years and still would have money left over.

My point is ballmer is willing to overpay to try to win. He's passionate
