Pleased with the pick but let's hope he doesn't turn out to be this season's Carsen Edwards

It's tough being able to hit 3s coming in cold off the bench without playing yourself in which is what he will be expected to do. Carsen found it difficult. Let's hope Aaron has better luck.

Carson 3 point shooting percentage in college was mid 30s.

Danny Ainge says Aaron Nesmith can come in and outshoot most players on the team right now, although he expects Jayson Tatum would have something to say about that.

Boston Celtics’ Aaron Nesmith calls himself ‘absolute sniper,’ wants to make life easy for Jayson Tatum

The newest member of the Boston Celtics, Aaron Nesmith, was drafted to be a sharpshooter.

“An absolute sniper,” Nesmith said on Wednesday evening, when asked what he will bring to the Celtics. “A guy who’s going to make life easier for the creators of the offense, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker. A guy that is always going to be there and work hard and earn his stripes and do it on both sides of the floor.

“I want to be great. I want to be the best player I can be, and so that includes defense. I’m going to give my all and the best effort I have to that side of the floor, and with my size, length and athleticism, being able to guard multiple positions.”

The Celtics have reason to be excited about their newest rookie, who they snatched up with the No. 14 pick in Wednesday’s draft. In 14 games, before a foot injury ended his season, Nesmith made 52 percent of his 3-pointers on 8.2 attempts per game. He isn’t much of a creator for himself, but he provides a ton of floor spacing, and he has a knack for finding seams in the defense.

“When 14 came out, we felt best about Aaron and Aaron, before he broke his foot this year, had a great year,” Brad Stevens said. “Early part of the season, the way he can run off screens and shoot the ball, the worker that he is, the amount of time he puts into his game, his size, which gives him some positional versatility as he becomes more comfortable with how we defend, will hopefully allow him to guard multiple positions. Those are all positives, but the shooting is his thing.”

Just want to point out that there's no mention of Hayward here. Probably means nothing, but could it mean Hayward is gone?

Could it be... a player who will hit 3s from the elbow extended and down? No more Semi specials of hitting the side of the backboard??

good catch. That's Nesmith being quoted. He might have  been told by his agent what to expect.

Welcome Aaron!
Happy of this pick because it seems to fill a big need. His speach is good now he has to turn it into reality. Maybe we have a future winner of the 3 point contest (did we already win it?)

I’m pretty sure both Ray and Paul won it a long time ago. Has been a while between drinks

Larry won the first 3 contests. Legend!

PP won in 2010.
Ray won in 2001, but he was playing for the Bucks at the time.

Larry and Craig Hodges share the most wins with 3.
The C's, the Bulls and the Heat share the most team wins with 4.

I don't think it means anything. It's not like the Celtics are telling a rookie all of their offseason plans minutes after drafting him (yet avoiding leaks at the same time)

Nesmith probably knows as much about what Hayward plans to do as you or me
I'm bitter.
