I'm hoping he's a more athletic version of Duncan Robinson. If that's what Nesmith turns out to be, then Danny hit a home run.

If he's even modestly comparable to Duncan Robinson I would be pretty happy.

From the sound of their post-draft interviews, Ainge and Stevens both expect him to be able to defend multiple positions after he gets used to their rotations and scheme as well. That's something Robinson never projects to be able to do.

Come on people, pump the breaks.

Middleton is more athletic
Middleton is a better playmaker
Middleton is a better ball handler
Middleton is a SUPERIOR defender,

He is more Alec Burk than Middleton.
Lol. Is that why Middleton went in the 2nd round & was a 13PPG guy at his peak in college? He took a while to come on

Nesmith reminds me of Kyle Korver. I think having a great shooter in the game changes the way other teams can play you. You can’t double Kemba or Tatum off off of this kid. He’ll make you pay. He can also hit shots on the move and over defenders.

I think he can do more than Korver.

Obviously his team was overmatched against Auburn. He had some forces going to the basket in this game. Still, there was a lot to like about his offense and he made a few pretty impressive blocks -- one against Okoro.

Maybe more athletic... but Korver was really good.

I'm starting to talk myself into Nesmith. I'm doing the typical fan thing where I'm starting to wonder if he has some star potential.

I've put on the green-tinted glasses.

What is most intriguing about him is that wingspan. Watch him on defense the opponent never seems to get away from him because even when they beat him with foot speed they are unable to escape his long reach. Looks like Brad could make a defensive monster out of him. The wingspan also allows him to get some and 1s from three point land.

Good video of his strengths and weaknesses. Elite mover, works well in NBA-type offensive schemes, great footwork, obviously an elite shooter, pretty dang good team defender, and he's more athletic than he is given credit for. On the flipside, he's not a good passer, isn't a great ball-handler, doesn't finish too well inside and was injured this year.

I've put on the green-tinted glasses.
- He can't create his own shot.
- He can't create shots for his teammates.
- He's a good team defender. He may not be explosive enough to become a good on-ball defender.
- Obviously, he's an elite shooter. He thrives playing of the ball.

Seems like a role player to me. If so, can you name a role player who became a star? Only player that comes to mind is Klay Thompson.

Here's hoping he's the next Klay Thompson!  8) 8)
