Love that the Lakers can turn a late 1st round pick into a sixth man candidate while the Celts are gonna struggle to move up even a few spots in the draft by packaging multiple 1st rounders.
He's on the last year of his contract, not many teams were going to line up for that.
Even on an expiring he's a player with value. The Celts have not been able to get much value at all out of their late 1st round picks in recent years. I guess we'll see in the next couple of days if that's going to change.
Why risk sending out value when the player you’re getting may leave next year? It’s not like Dennis is a superstar, I don’t think teams were ready to go to a bidding war over a sixth man on a contending team.
They will re-sign him and even if they don't, they gave up Green who has an expiring contract and the 28th pick to get better and more likely to repeat. Worth it every single time.
