Someone provide for me the "green" lens if Gordon opts out and just signs elsewhere.  What does this create in terms of space for signing?  Just full MLE?

Yeah it means they have the full suite of cap exceptions at their disposal to fill out the bench.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Yeah, I would say pretend Hayward is injured again but we’re allowed to sign two bench players as injury exemptions

What are the chances that we hear the final decision today via a Players' Tribune blog entry?

do the Cs always seem to be in the middle of FA drama or does it just seem like that because we are Cs fans?

So if Gordon opts out will free agents start to ask why Boston cannot keep its free agents?

I brought this up before, as I think it's an alarming issue. Did Danny and Brad make promises they didn't keep maybe because of the emergence of Jayson and Jaylen? I feel like there maybe a young versus veteran dynamic issue that the team won't talk about. Something maybe wrong and may need to be addressed.

I have a solution to that. Fire Brad Stevens. Get a new coach with a new philosophy and direction.

Only if they completely ignore all context

Horford, Hayward and Kemba were / are all overpaid when they signed here. Kyrie is just guy with zero tactful ness or common sense.
On the other hand Danny going after the above 4 guys, maxing them out and thinking that they would somehow satisfy the “championship or bust crowd” is also part of the issue

Honestly, sounds like a bad move for both parties--so it probably will end up happening.

Would they want him on a long term contract? That's the only way it makes sense for Hayward, but for the Knicks that doesn't fit in their timeline at all.

On the other hand, though, they're the Knicks, so who knows

Boston is going to lose him for absolutely nothing.
What a train wreck. Going to have to fill out a bench with peanuts.

In a story from the future, Gordon Hayward is frustrated with his role on the Knicks due to the emergence of RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin as up and coming young stars.

Alright, that gives us another salary to trade with. If Hayward opts out, we'll need it.
