The Drummond thing is coming from Chris Mannix, nothing to see here.

In other news the Knicks just waived Taj Gibson and declined an option on Bobby Portis.

Both could be options with the MLE, although I'm not a fan of Portis and Gibson is pretty old.

God I hope not.

I doubt it. I imagine the Celtics would rather just lose Hayward for nothing and free up the ability to get under the luxury tax rather than bring bad Drummond whose 29 million salary makes it near impossible.

Ugh, I don't like that at all. Maybe Brad can get something out of Drummond? Idk.

God I hope not.

Don’t get this if true. Is Hayward really going to sign long-term in Cleveland? Seriously doubt it.  And if not, why wouldn’t both sides (C’s and Hayward) prefer to just have him ride out this year with us, try to win a chip, and reassess next summer?

For Hayward I guess he'd have a bigger role on the Cavs and it would give him more of an opportunity to show what he can do as he heads into free agency?  I don't know the Cavs lineup that well.  Where would he be on the pecking order.

If that's the play I don't really get it for the Cavs.  Wouldn't they be in the same situation the Celtics would be in if he just left (i.e. losing an asset)?

I'm not interested in Portis. Guy just doesn't seem to fit in with a team on or off the court anywhere. Gibson is interesting, but he's slowed down quite a bit and is pretty limited. I think he's worth closer to the minimum these days.

But Drummond is a big the Celtics desperately need! ;D

3rd team might work.

But Drummond was traded last season for just Knight (didnt play expiring) Henson (Trash) and a second round pick. Hayward is worth WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY more than that. They would need to include this years pick, and next years pick.

Drummond has had a Kemba-level horrible supporting cast throughout his career. Very unclear how he would fit in here.

I have a feeling he would be pretty excited finally playing on a real team though.

Going to be just like the draft chatter. In the Hayward will probably walk away for nothing. Boston would then get the full MLE to find some functional vets for the bench

He is so slow, plodding, unswitchable, no range on his shot and a terrible FT shooter.

I would do that but still not sold on Drummond. Would probably shop him elsewhere.

Drummond is a bad defender, and he’s paid a ton of money. I’d rather keep Kanter.

OK it is strange that we haven't heard anything and there's less than 2 hours until the deadline, right?
