Crazy thought.  What about Hayward for horford?

I don't see why Hayward would agree to that.

Or why we would.

Exactly, we didn't want to pay Horford a that contract a year ago. Why would we want to now that hes showed regression?

The thing is Atlanta doesn't have to trade for Hayward. They could outright sign him in FA anyways.

Yes, but the starring contest is that Hayward wants to go to Indiana. The Celtics could bluff that they are trading him to Indiana, and if the Hawks want him, then they need to pony up now.

If I were the Hawks, I'd be targeting Bogdonavic anyway. I think that's the reason why the Kings were unable to convince him into a sign-and-trade with the Bucks.

Where did you see Hayward wants to go to Indiana?  I saw reports Indiana might be interested then fans started dreaming of Turner and the fact Hayward bought a house there.  His agent is negotiating and putting options in front of Hayward.   I am sure he will have a couple options because he is a good player.

It's more of a rumor. Nothing firm, but seems pretty legit.

ESPN trade machine has Hayward listed as a 2 year contract, 32.7 million per season right now.....they know something none of the rest of us do?

They also have Kemba with 4 years left. Looks like they're still using last season's numbers
I'm bitter.

I would Rather let Hayward walk or get the TPE then have Rozier back in Boston.

Zach Lowe stated on the Jump he thinks that a Dark Hourse for Hayward could be Charlotte.

They have alot of balls in the air and Hayward could be the main guy to bring it all together.

Hayward for Rozier?

Also seems like Chicago has set themselves up for a Lavine trade and a trade for Kemba.

Lavine and Rozier in place of Kemba and Hayward would be a serious step back. Both need the ball and both pout when they don't have it. I don't like the fit at all off the court or on.

I feel like I keep saying this is real basketball, not 2k. A Smart/Rozier/Lavine/Brown/Tatum core sounds fun on a video game, but I don't doubt for a second that it'd be an underwhelming mess in real life.

I dont think Lavine would go here in a trade.
Just is Chicago trades for Kemba, Then they would want to trade Lavine somewhere, imo.

Doubt anyone in the organization wants Rozier back.  Doubt Hayward would be anxious to play with him again if Rozier wasn't included in the trade.

With this draft the C's have greatly improved the bench!  With guys who can play this season.

There has to be a Hayward/Kemba trade though, assuming the C's want to keep Romeo.  I mean both Romeo and Hayward could be traded but something has to give in the near future:

If Pritchard is that good a shooter, etc.  and he definitely is ready to play...then that makes Smart a wing (unless Kemba traded and Smart starting PG).  So we gotta clear space at PG or wing...

WINGS:  Smart, Brown, Tatum, Romeo, Nesmith, Hayward...
POINT GUARDS:  Kemba, Smart, Pritchard

I believe one highly paid vet has to go....Hayward or Kemba....you're welcome for this obvious post...

Hayward to Orlando

Fournier and Bamba to GSW

Wiseman to Boston.

I don't see why GSW parts with Wiseman unless they're getting an all-star caliber player back. I think with Klay's injury, they can't afford to punt on young talent without getting a star in return that actually puts them into contention. Fournier nor Bamba fits the bill - its a poo poo platter (I know it's supposed to be "pu pu platter". I said what I said).

And again, I don't see it from Hayward's perspective. He wants to be on a competitive team. Maybe he'd do well with Vucevic and they make in as a bottom seed. If he's okay with that, fine. But I'd prefer getting back Aaron Gordon in the deal. His contract is decent and he could fit nicely next to Theis and Tatum in the frontcourt.

He also just bought a house in Indy(which makes sense being from there) but also his kids are enrolled to a school there. Now the private school they go to also has one in Mass, but with Covid I'm not sure how tough it would be for them to change schools. Or even if they are networked. My wife is a teacher and is teaching online, but has had students want to go back in person, but can't because they are maxed for safety.

I don't know what Mass has for rules now, but some states have a two week quarantine if coming from out of state. I think we are two weeks out from training camp or getting close to it. You'd think they would  getting the family back if they planned on staying. Maybe they are back, not sure, but if they are still in Indy at this point, might lean towards them staying. Unless they are giving guys like Kemba and Hayward an extra week or two "healing bubble injuries" so they don't have to go through training camp.

BUT also the video of Turner working out with Tacko and GWilliams keeps the rumors alive.

Love crazy season!

Was just looking at salaries that fit within the TPE for them. They cannot really match salaries outside of that. Unless they trade Wiggins or Draymond. Get the feeling like they want to see what Wiggins can do with Curry as well.

Fournier would fit

Eerily quiet on the Hayward front. Super interested to see what ends up happening.

At this point I'm assuming that all of their efforts to work out a deal have stymied and that unless something changes, Hayward is simply going to opt out and become a free agent.

Then he'll be pursued by Charlotte, Atlanta, Detroit, etc.

I'm really hoping Danny can figure out how to get something out of Hayward leaving that will make it easier to build out the rest of the roster, even if it's just a trade exception.

Fournier would fit

If they really wanted Fournier, I'm sure they could pull it off without giving up Wiseman. Bamba isn't a good enough prospect to make that trade palatable either. I think there's still other targets out there for them (Oubre comes to mind, he can fit in the TPE and OKC would happily take a protected pick probably).

But at this point with Klay out, I'm not sure they even use the TPE. Is the additional salary and tax worth it if they're not 100% sure they can contend? Or does it make sense to be crappy for another year, get another high pick and go all in on Beal next offseason? They'd have their own pick, Wiseman, Wiggins to match salary (with another season gone off the books for him), and a Minny first rounder to potentially deal.

They're in a tough position for sure, but they shouldn't make a panic trade that won't actually benefit them.
