Think Danny throws a second round to get a bigger trade exception and that’s it. No players in return.

Will have the MLE to address bench depth but nothing else.

Not necessarily.  Under those circumstances, we’d have the full MLE, the BAE, the minimum, and the trade exception.

Take the best deal regardless of position. But for goodness sake’s don’t let him go for nothing.

I saw a report that Hayward wants to take care of the Celtics on his way out.  I look for him to go to ATL in a package revolving around Collins.

Could be expanded to include Nesmith and Huerrter.  The Hawks have Capela and now Okongwu.

How exactly would a better TPE help the Celtics?

TPEs often expire without being used.  They are useful to a team with a lot of draft capital, which we no longer have.  I guess we could absorb another team's bad contract, but man I don't want to do that.

The thing is Atlanta doesn't have to trade for Hayward. They could outright sign him in FA anyways.

The one minor advantage of trading him is clearing up cap space. I can see the desire to get Capella off the books at this point. Trae is going to get a Supermax when he is ready, Hayward won't come cheap, neither will John Collins I can see them wanting to shed Capella to open up some cap space

This also depends on hayward.  If Gordon tells Atlanta I'm not coming unless it's a sign and trade then they will do what they need to do if they really want him.  Especially if there are deals from other teams.  Hayward can give Danny a list of teams that he'd be ok going to and tell him do what you need to do as long as it's one of these 3 teams.  Hopefully this is the case.

Which makes zero sense frankly.  Why would Hayward demand on weakening the team he’s coming to?

Yeah, yeah, do Ainge a solid but real life wouldn’t work this way.  He’s doing to celts a favor by letting them find something or lose him for nothing.  But he’s not going to artificially insert this kind of demand.

with some of the OKC picks...yes, I'd like that.  I don't believe Horford is as cooked as others...
lesser role gradually yes....but just a great teammate, teacher, defender, passer....

Zach Lowe stated on the Jump he thinks that a Dark Hourse for Hayward could be Charlotte.

They have alot of balls in the air and Hayward could be the main guy to bring it all together.

Hayward for Rozier?

Also seems like Chicago has set themselves up for a Lavine trade and a trade for Kemba.

Lavine and Rozier in place of Kemba and Hayward would be a serious step back. Both need the ball and both pout when they don't have it. I don't like the fit at all off the court or on.

I feel like I keep saying this is real basketball, not 2k. A Smart/Rozier/Lavine/Brown/Tatum core sounds fun on a video game, but I don't doubt for a second that it'd be an underwhelming mess in real life.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I don't see why Hayward would agree to that.

These are the numbers from the 2019/20 season. They haven't updated their database yet.

Yes, but the starring contest is that Hayward wants to go to Indiana. The Celtics could bluff that they are trading him to Indiana, and if the Hawks want him, then they need to pony up now.

If I were the Hawks, I'd be targeting Bogdonavic anyway. I think that's the reason why the Kings were unable to convince him into a sign-and-trade with the Bucks.
