There's rumors that the C's could pursue a 3-team trade that gets them both Holiday and Turner. Hayward, picks, Ojeyele, and Kemba or Smart (likely Kemba) would be heading out in the package.

I do think it's a complicated idea, but it's also not something I look at and immediately dismiss.

I'm trying to think, so Hayward, Ojeyele, 1-2 future pick to IND for Turner. Kemba + 1 future pick for Holiday. Only question after that would be, who is our PG?

I do not believe that Smart would be a part of the outgoing package, so he would be the PG.

Not sold on Turner at all as a center, but if betting on him being better under Stevens that he was in Indiana, that is a sure thing bet. IS he that much better than Theis to overpay though? no.

'21 Historical Draft

SG: Reggie Miller / Jeff Hornacek / Nick Anderson
SF: George Gervin / George McGinnis / Kyle Korver
PF: Connie Hawkins / Serge Ibaka / Josh Smith

Unless Kemba signs off on it and maybe even request a way out, he is likely not going anywhere
No marquee FA would want to sign with the Celtics if Danny did this

Here is another option I just was pondering.

Kemba and #30 goes to the bucks.

Khris Middleton and pick #26 goes to the Warriors

Wiggins, Edwards, Poirier and #2 goes to the Pelicans

Jrue, Reddick and #13 goes to Boston.

Bucks
Kemba
Bledsoe
Davinci
Giannis
Blopez
(MLE and pick 30 left)

Warriors
Curry
Klay
Middleton
Draymond
Looney
(TPE and pick 26 left)

Pelicans
Ball
Wiggins
Ingram
Zion
Hayes
(Pick number 2 to use - Wiseman?)

Celtics
Jrue
Smart/Reddick
Brown/Romeo
Tatum/GrantW
Theis/Timelord
(Still have Hayward to trade, picks 13 and 14 and 47)

'21 Historical Draft
PG: Kyle Lowry / Mookie Blaylock / Mark Jackson

Yeah no way Milwaukee trades Middleton for Kemba and 30.  None at all.  Middleton is better than Kemba.  Now I'm sure Milwaukee would love to have Kemba, but to pair with Middleton and Giannis, not in lieu of Middleton.

That one makes more sense, but really only if Kemba basically demands to be traded.  Boston can't trade Kemba 1 year after signing him, without him demanding out.

This is a small point but I don't think Romeo Langford will be included in any trade.

DA and BS seem to like him so he is valued in Boston and to an outside team his injuries would probably make him an negative asset.

I agree. Too many here use him as a throw in.  Bad idea.  He will be part of the rotation this season.

If Hayward is traded I expect starting line up to be something like : Kemba, Holiday, Brown, Tatum, Theis.  The bench rotation (by minutes played) to be: Smart, G. Williams, Langford, and R Williams.

Romeo will probably get 15-20 minute a game.

If Romeo, GrantW are playing 15-20 minutes a game your team is not winning a championship
Last I saw, Romeo won’t even be ready due to his surgery and will miss the preseason and first part of the season. He will be behind the 8 ball next season. I don’t envision him getting much playing time for a while.

I don't get the whole Bucks  trade.  They would be better of just trading directly with the Pelicans and getting Holiday.  He is probably a better fit for them over Kemba anyway.

Then if the Pelicans want to deal with GSW to get Wiggins and the #2, they can just do that separately as well.  Boston is being shoehorned into this unnecessarily.  We don't make the deal better for anyone.

If your name isn’t Brown or Tatum I don’t believe the Celtics would hesitate to trade ANYONE if it’s not them 2 in order to upgrade this roster. I agreee the Celtics highly value their players and rightfully so, but that don’t mean he won’t trade you. As matter a fact that’s more of a reason to trade you! If Romeo, Tacko, or anyone else needs to be included to strengthen his top 5 players HE WILL DO IT.

Jrue is more of a SG not a PG.

I assume if the Celts acquired him that would mean Hayward is the outgoing salary.

Kemba + Holiday as the starting backcourt with Smart off the bench is pretty darn good.

Still need to address backup wing and big man depth, but I'd be for it.

Now if they could somehow get JJ Redick in the deal as well without giving up any of their main rotation pieces ....

Jrue is more of a point guard than Kemba or Smart is.

no way C's can get Jrue, Reddick and the #13 pick for just Kemba and #26.  it that were possible, Danny would have to change his shorts from the excitement.

What would be the incentive for N.O. To do a swap with Kemba/ Jrue?  Jrue seems like such a better fit beside Lonzo, no? Sorry if this has been answered already. It just seems they could get something else that fit better if they were worried about losing him for nothing.
The other thing with the way Danny is talking publicly about Kemba’s knee being managed, makes me think we’re not going to be in position to trade him. “ Hey, here’s a guy we hope could be available to us 75 percent of the time.” You know?  I’m much more concerned about Kemba’s knee than anything right now. Well, besides Tatum maxing of course.

Kemba brings offense and superior floor spacing.

Kemba/Ingram and Zion is a good trio.

The rest there are role players.

Also Kemba is locked up for 3 more years and is used to being in a small market team. I think he is a great fit there. Better than Jrue. Just like i think Jrue is a better fit here.
