Lakers closer to their goal.

With what LeBron James means to people BEYOND basketball is becoming even more evident.

They are on the cusp of their 17th Championship, his 4th ring, and FINALLY tying BOS.

The argument can be made THEN that LAL's organization has been more relevant than BOS's. It will be a hard argument to debunk.

While LAL accomplishing this feat WILL BE a TOUGH pill to swallow for ALL that LeBron James has done for the game AND in Standing Tall I'll be happy for him - if he can do it.

More important than banners, there is identity. I prefer by miles our constructive way to get it... I prefer guys who are "real" Celtics, many by year one, than a mercenary elite team who come to reach (mostly individual) goals. I always liked Kyrie game but as a Celtics I never felt in love with him... Because I never felt he was really bleeding green.
They will probably tye us this year. LBJ, NBA buisness, medias, Silver everybody will be happy with the storytelling. For Kobe memory (and NBA buisness) it will be good. But when we'll again pass them and go for 18th (cause LBJ has only one year at the very top I guess and the Lakers after LBJ and prob after AD will be again brutal), it will be a better feeling for me than the one we could have in winning when Kyrie and GH signed.

Fakers bought their way to a title...

We are building it from the core. Hopefully we reach the FINALS...I'm hoping against hope as there will be so many superlatives if both teams meet...

Fitting that first Bubble Finals will be between the 2 most storied franchise in NBA history
Lebron being the first superstar to lead and Multiple championships from 3 different teams
JB and JT being the first duo under age of 23 to lead its team to a championship
Rondo being first ever Laker to win while being a Celtic champion himself
First championship for Dwight, Kemba, Hayward and AD
Fakers tying Celtics with 17 championships
Celtics being one of the youngest core team to win a championship.
Lebron being the most Finals appearance with more losses than ring.
etc...etc...

If MPJ can learn to play defence to a level that makes him no longer unplayable, then they'll be good for a long time

Gotta wonder if Avery Bradley is regretting his decision to opt out.

I would imagine he would still get a ring if they won the chip...and I would be happy for him getting one, at least. He's had a tough few years.

Teams In the east play very strong defense. You can’t say that for most of the west teams ..
Maybe just the Lakers play excellent defense out there.
If lakers had our opponents this playoffs they would struggle mightily and Who knows if AD pogo stick legs would have lasted till now.

It is always easier to win another team in theory than the one actually giving you trouble.

Lebron showed last night why he is still the best player in the NBA. I mean, it's not even close. He was dominant.  Tip of the cap.

He wouldn't even sniff the Finals if he wasn't riding AD's coattails though.

Just frustrating how it only took 2 of them to take them to the promised land. The rest of their squad is a complete joke...well, maybe except for Playoff Rondo and I guess maybe KCP.

That's absurd. Did you watch the game last night?  Lebron is leading them to the Finals. It's a partnership between them, and Lebron is the managing partner of the enterprise.  And from all indications, he is not slowing down anytime soon. I thought he'd be breaking down a bit by now, but man, he still a beast.
