Not a fan of the Rondo pick for Utah, as I view Rondo as just a smaller version of Kidd. Especially in these historical drafts, with so much talent available, I'd want the bench PG to be able to come in and provide a different look, not the same look.
I normally do agree with the different look approach. But for me here
1) The Rondo-Shaq connection is too good IMO to pass up. It even opens up the option of trading Kidd and starting Rondo if a great deal comes around. Rondo could deliver amazing passes to set up Shaq, Reggie, and Peja beautifully whether starting or off the bench.
2) I've got a strong enough team identity so far that it might be wise to not change up the style of my team
The main downside, and it is a considerable one, is I would not be comfortable playing Rondo and Kidd on the floor together. (With 2010 Kidd I could do that, but I won't be selecting 2010 Kidd, so I don't see as a viable option for me.)
