Welp, the heck with it. Let's do this.

With the 1st pick of the 4th round, the Brooklyn Nets select: Yao Ming

That is one of the FEW Centers that Shaq said gave him problems during his prime.

Nice pick.

That is a big dog in the middle for Brooklyn.

I was half thinking of going Yao-Pau if Yao was still available later on. Not wild about their fit together but Yao & Pau is so much fun to say that I might have done it anyway!

Brandon Roy is an interesting choice. I wonder how he fits next to CP3 and Jimmy

I love Brandon Roy. He was one of my favourite players in the league at his peak. So much fun to watch and what a team player.

Portland was seemingly a cursed place for a few years there. Couple of big "what should have been" guys

That 08-09 season, his last fully healthy one, was a joy to watch. He had become a star, was amazing in the playoffs and looked to be headed to superstardom.

Then the knee. What an absolute shame.

Yeah, in the alternate universe where Roy and the other guy hit their full potential, Portland probably wins a championship or two.

The next selection we will make will address a key thing we think we need, post scoring.

With a couple of good shooters waiting in the wings, have a post scorer seems the logical next step in our building a competitive squad. It also happens that this player is a good rebounder and a solid defender, that will also offer us the much needed size.

For the 3rd pick in the 4th round of the 2000s Historical Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder selects LaMarcus Aldridge.

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

It's insane how an MVP-calibre forward-centre still hasn't been selected yet when people are going on a spree for bigs :o

Aldridge is an interesting player for what year to pick for him. He has been so consistent for so long. Towards the end of his career, his post scoring became more versatile / well rounded and he added a 3 point shot. But his legs lost some speed which took away from his team defense and transition play both offensively and defensively.

I guess what I am trying to say is -- I am not sure he has a clear peak. A best year. So many similar seasons over such a long period.

That is not a problem. Just interesting to see which version of Aldridge Yoki goes with.
