Loving my three so far.

Dirk gives me a unicorn of a PF and an all-time great offensive player. He's going to demand an opponent's best defender(s) and double teams - which he can then pass out of to either Joel or another teammate.

A matchup nightmare is Dirk.

Embiid - dominates offensively and defensively. He has no weaknesses in his game. If he is doubled he is an exceptional passer. Has a good FT%, numerous post moves, is PHYSICAL, has an edge to him and can hit enough from deep to keep most honest.

He's a capable defensive anchor, proving how PHI was 3rd best defensive team last year with him on the floor.

And Ice

Two seven footers that can play off of one another, with different styles. Dirk's going to love Joel's picks as well.

Tony Parker gives me a reliable floor general and scoring threat at the PG. In Pop's system his numbers were never flashy but he is capable of scoring in spots and a decent deep threat.

He is a capable defender as well. If he wasn't he wouldn't have played for Pop.

His and Dirk's Finals MVPs help to lead this team.

Need a few other pieces but I know I can get them over the remainder of this draft.

As always I'm open to comments / suggestions.

I seriously have no idea how I'm going to stop a Tony Parker - Dirk Nowitzki pick and roll. I really don't know. . .

I know Ben Wallace will get a few stops...I've always loved Ben's defense and toughness.

In retrospect, Peja is perhaps the one SF I should've looked harder at when "I" had Shaq in the Historical Draft from last year.

This is a cop out, but I don’t see much separation between teams yet.  It’s the closest draft after three rounds I can remember.  There are three trios that I’m not a huge fan of (but who still can contend), and then eight teams virtually equal to me.

I kinda agree.  Rankings would mostly just depend on if you like offense or defense more as some teams are really strong on one end, and other teams are really strong on the other.  I'm not sure I see any team that is say top 5 in both so far.  I might try to rank the teams just based on offenses and defenses.

Appreciate that.  I had Peja ranked as the 3(11) player on my rankings, so I was actively trying to trade down, but then when the 3(10) guy on my list who also would be a great fit on my team (Vince Carter) got taken at 3(2), I knew I had to just pull the trigger on Peja at 3(3).

Question: Would I be crazy to play Peja at power forward?  I feel like he would be playing PF if he were in the NBA today.

To make life easier for you, if you want to do this again in the future, you can simply cut and paste the list of all rosters that I have in the OP.

Crazy, no, but unwise in my opinion.  He could probably excel at it in the modern NBA, but in this league he’d get killed.  He’d be facing physical forwards like Malone, Brand, Webber, Giannis, KG, etc.  Whatever you gain in spacing you lose in defense and rebounding.

Definitely not crazy, but a team like Roy’s would be a huge issue for Peja at PF

After day 5, I start cutting and pasting the rosters in a new post so everyone can make comparisons now that everyone's starting five is in place.

Love the Dirk and Embiid pairing.  Not so high on the Parker pick especially in the 3rd.  I probably would have gone with Marion.  Not sure I would have gone with him anyway but Parker would have been there in the 4th.

Best offenses:

Elite Tier
#1 (tied) Utah and Boston
#3 Dallas - only not in tie for #1 because of questionable fit w/ LBJ and Luka, not talent
#4 LAL - stacked w/ offensive prowess and great fit
#5 LAC - I'd rate pretty comparable to #3 Dallas (slightly less talent, but more fit), which shows how close I think these top 5 all are
#6 Indiana - Love that TP-Dirk pick and pop

Strong, but not quite elite
#7 Miami - CP3 is a point god. Welcome to Lob City, Dwight.
#8 Houston - Strong, but just not sold on this Wade-Harden pairing.  Harden-Amare will be like Harden-Capela on steroids.
#9 Brooklyn - Two incredible offensive talents here with T-Mac and AD.  Why does something just feel a bit vanilla though?  Maybe not enough passing yet?  Maybe I'll come around.

Legit pretty good, but needs more Tier
#10 Philly - Got two solid actions they can run, but could use at least one more offensive action and that would shoot them up these rankings.
#11 Toronto - Good offensive players, just missing some creation relative to the rest of the league.  A point guard should help solve that.
#12 Milwaukee - Good offensive players, just can't fully visualize the offensive fits with zero guards in the mix yet.  Spacing concerns relative to the other teams in the league.

Need Some More Offense Tier
#13 Denver - Need some more creation, all I see here is Tim Duncan post ups (a solid play in itself).  Draymond's a great passer, but Duncan and Payton aren't the type to run off off-ball screens.  Get one of those kind of guys.  (PMing you a suggestion)
#14 OKC - Need some creation period!  Got some finishers in place.

Good analysis.  OKC could use one of those high usage scorers that have been dropping.
