With the 2nd pick in the 3rd round, the Toronto Raptors select

Vince Carter

An offensive engine to go with KG and the Admiral is an excellent move.

Definitely surprised Vince wasn't taken yesterday.

Like the Brand pick.    Thought he might fly under the radar on here for a bit.  Apparently, not!
I too thought he would be there later, but a solid pick for that Clippers team.

Luckily gouki is running the team and not Brand. gouki, no matter how much Brand whispers in your ear, DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM.
He makes a startlingly strong case for giving max contracts to mediocre wings and past-their-prime bigs...

Vince is a superb talent.  I worry about his ability to share a bit; he didn’t seem to “get it” until really late in his career.  But, the value is definitely there.

Maybe '08 KG could drill that into him? ;D

It’s interesting, because KG played along another talent like that very early in his career.  He didn’t have the power to sway that paste-eater, but 2008 KG had the gravitas (except for with Patrick O’Blount).

I don't think Vince ever had a problem sharing the ball. He just never had much opportunity to play on top teams during his career. If Vince and Kobe had of switched places and Vince got to play with Shaq, Vince would be remember much more fondly.

Vince had bad luck in Toronto with T-Mac leaving. There was no offensive talent there to help him after that. Then he joined NJ where he played well alongside Kidd and that scoring SF but their team had no interior defense or rebounding after their rugged PF of previous years left for Denver. Neither where Vince's fault. The faults were in his supporting cast.

I thought Vince played brilliantly on that Team USA in 2000. Arguably the best player on the team. Either Vince or KG with an honourable mention to Ray Allen who was also brilliant. I reckon that this is the best example of how Vince would play in his prime on a team with lots of talent.

He was a selfish, often lazy prima donna.  Like Kobe, without the work ethic.

He’s an awesome teammate and mentor now, but in his prime — up to and including Orlando — he was a terrible teammate.

I had Peja as a late 3rd rather than an early 3rd (hence my aggressive attempts to move down from this pick), but I feel the fit was too good to risk not getting him.  Plus I loved his game.

Ah!!!! Curse you action781! I really wanted him to slip a bit to pair with Curry.

Awesome seasons in Sacramento

Peja is arguably a little early, but that man could shoot like few ever.

The best reason to take anybody in this draft.

He's a really good guy alongside Shaq and Kidd. Stretches the defence a heck of a lot

I disagree. Vince was a terrible teammate because he was miserable due to the team's failures to put enough talent around him to contend for a title. He had checked out mentally and was trying to get himself traded out of Toronto. He wanted nothing to do with the place anymore.

He was a good teammate prior to that and a good teammate after that.

So I am only worried about Vince's behaviour if he is placed on similarly badly run team with a lack of talent that makes Vince feel depressed and hopeless.

I am not worried one iota about his behaviour on a winning team.
