Oh thank goodness. I was on the edge of my seat there for the last few minutes. I was sure wdleehi was going to take him. I am shocked this player didn't go earlier. Never thought he'd last until my pick.

Boston Celtics select Pau Gasol with pick 3.7

Steve Nash + Kevin Durant + Pau Gasol

Crabs! He was second on my board after Chauncey. Now I really have to dig thru who's left.
Pau is another great value pick. Had him at bottom of 2nd round on my board

Some might question the fit, but too much talent to pass up here. He's a great teammate that wouldn't mind deferring - he's never really had a teammate like Kobe.

The Los Angeles Lakers complete their dynamic backcourt by selecting:

Damian Lillard
. with the 9th pick of the 3rd round

PG: Chauncey Billups/ Baron Davis
SG: Michael Redd/ Dan Majerle/ Allan Houston
SF: Peja Stojakovic/ Gerald Wallace/ Toni Kukoc
PF: Shawn Kemp/ Antonio McDyess
C: Dwight Howard/ Tyson Chandler

Was wondering where Dame would end up. Sucks that this season (his best) got cut short, but he's a proven clutch performer in the playoffs

I like Lillard in this Historical League. Not many PGs can shoot with his type of range, volume and accuracy. The spacing he creates for others and the PnR threat against slower bigs (assuming most teams go big with two bigs given early 00s was a golden age at PF) is a massive weapon.

He's a bad fit next to LeBron, but imo he's a top 10 player in this draft (even at the age of 21).

So far I've heard Grant Hill and now Luka Doncic described as "top 10 players in this draft".

LBJ, Shaq, KG, Duncan, Curry, Kawhi, Durant, Giannis, Kobe, Dirk, 06 DWade.  Thats 11 players all of which are an MVP or a Finals MVP.  I'd can't find one, nevermind two guys there that Luka or Grant Hill are even close to.

I did have Luka as a late second rounder though, so he's a good value.  He just requires the ball in his hands to be most effective, which is why I didn't take him and probably why he's sliding.  I've got 5 other players that I considered first-second round talents still available to be drafted too.
Gimme Luka and/or prime Grant Hill over Dirk and Wade. Probably over Kobe as well. Was never a fan of his ISO-heavy game.

Gimme Luka over Giannis. Love Giannis, but he hasn't proved that he can dominate slow paced games. I mean, he couldn't even dominate the FIBA World Championship against clearly inferior opponents. Brazil clogged the paint and Giannis committed at least 2 (maybe 3, can't remember right now) offensive fouls while trying to attack the basket. Eventually, he fouled out. The refs made some questionable calls, but that's a whole nother story.

My point is that Giannis is a great regular season player. Not sure whether he has what it takes in order to dominate in the post season (when the pace of the game slows down). I'll believe it when I see it.

I firmly believe that you guys sleep on Luka cause you haven't seen him play in do-or-die games yet (=playoff games). I've seen 18-year-old Luka leading tiny little Slovenia (alongside Dragic) to the gold medal in the 2017 European Championship! I've seen 19-year-old Luka leading his team to the 2018 Euroleague title while winning Regular Season and Final Four MVP honors! The European Championship and the Euroleague are no joke. Doncic was just a kid and he was dominating everybody! I'm telling you guys, Luka is the real deal!

HEY! Hello there!

How are you doing? Hope all is good and fine.

I'm actually trying to be back at work today. Just have flu stuff now - cough, shivers, weakness, etc. It's nothing like what hit me this weekend that earned me a trip in an ambulance to the hospital.
