Mileage on that team IMO, not the years .  They  ve play alot of tuff games staying on top , racked up bunch of injuries ,  the bones and joints are getting old fast.  Not sure they have many years left as dominate group as comstructed.

Steph would be awsome addition to our young legs  ;D

GSW dynasty had to end sooner or later.

KD's ego just couldn't accept the fact that he won championship because he joined a championship team.

If they still had Klay, they'd be fine, but his injury is a huge obstacle. They'll deal Russell as some point, but I'm not sure what they'll be able to get. They could also keep Russell and go with a backcourt of Curry, Klay at the 2 and Russell at the 3. Wouldn't count the Warriors out yet.

If they had Klay, but they don't have Klay.

It might take the Warriors a while to be relevant again.

Even when they had Klay, Steph, and Draymond, they got beat by Kyrie and Lebron in 2016.
It was only when KD joined GSW that GSW looked invincible.

I'll never understand Durant. If he stayed in GSW, they could've had a dynasty (an even bigger one that what they already had.)
What does he think? He'll win a string of championships in Brooklyn? Amazing how sometimes the best athletes can't get out of their own way.

Human nature.

KD's ego couldn't handle the criticism.

People were saying he only won a championship because he joined an already championship team.

That's too much for KD's ego.

Draymond actually fits our needs better.  Small ball 5, bigger lineup 4. Versatile defender.  Excellent distributor and above average rebounder.  Couldn't trade until february and then would have to be theis, kanter, langford plus a pick type trade.

Draymond's contract will kill the Celts' cap flexibility.

I don't think it's a good idea to have 5 players getting more than 25m per year and none of them are 7-footers.

I don't think he is worth the contract for the Celtics.   That contract is worth it to the Warriors because of past performances.

True.

To other teams not GSW, Draymond is not worth the max.

GSW rewarded Draymond for being loyal.

I think Green would be a great fit, but I wouldn't want to give up Williams, Williams, or Smart to get him.

I don't think Langford, Theis, and Kanter quite gets us there either, either from a salary matching perspective or a value perspective. That means we would need to send 4 players, but 4 for 1 trades are pretty rare in the NBA. Smile or Pascal would have to come back to the Cs.

Then its just an issue of value. The Cs can give the Memphis pick and the Bucks pick. That gives the Warriors a ton of draft capital in 2020. I'm guess the Warriors would require Williams, Williams, and/or Edwards as part of any deal. That would be a sticking point with me, but probably not enough for me not to do the deal.

Green provides an answer to Giannis, Simmons, and Horford, and provides a little help with Embiid (especially if he refuses to stay in the low post). Green, Williams, Smart, and Williams can do all the dirty work as low usage defensive playmakers and smart offensive players who can all pass. Walker, Hayward, Brown, and Tatum can be the offensive playmakers. Poirier, Edwards, and Wanamaker can all be deep bench options.

If you put Williams in the dunker spot and run pick-and-rolls with Walker-Green, Green would give a lot of alleyoops to Williams too.

It really makes  a ton of sense for both teams.

HOWEVER, I don't think we should mess with the team chemistry at all right now. We've got a good thing going. If Brown and Tatum continue to go to the next level, everything changes in our team needs (for example, the Clippers have Harrell and Zubac inside--that's not a daunting front court). There's a good feel going on right now. We probably need an answer eventually inside, but I'm not sure I would seek that answer in another prickly player like Green.

Here's my proposed trade:

The Magic would have to trade at least one unprotected first rounder.

Curry is 30 years old and may have 3 years of elite production left.

The trade evens out the Magic's unbalanced roster and helps GSW start the rebuilding process.

Bums me out.  I like the Warriors, always have, definitely not one of those chortling at their misery just because they were good the last five years.

I hope they sit Curry the rest of the year, rest Draymond liberally, get a super high draft pick, and come back strong next season.

Ya this shouldn't be surprising, I thin Nate Dunca pointed this out but they have like the worst SF and C rotation in the league. They can't stop anybody. I mean this is what you see from long time contenders when they final start to fall apart. Years of finals runs wears the stars down, high luxury taxes eventually erode depth and years of late first round picks or failing to develop those picks (because competing becomes more important than developing youth) leaves a team with no young guys to step up.

That being said a good draft pick this year, Thompson back next year and a trade of Russel to replenish wing depth could let them get good again quick.

Basically, they need to adopt the "'97 Spurs Strategy (tm)".   Tank.  Let Steph & Klay get healthy.  Get high draft pick.  Reset for the next few years.

Curry had surgery on his hand today and will be re-evaluated in three months, per multiple NBA sources on Twitter.  They won’t even need to “tank” to get a good lottery pick this year.

Downside for them is they have little chance to discover if Russell and Curry can play together.  But they probably can’t, so I guess they now hope Russell gets his numbers and retains his trade value.  His salary matches up with Beal’s nicely, plus that lottery pick could be enticing.

They'll have 20-30 games depending on exactly when Curry gets back.

It will be interesting to see how Kerr coaches Russell without Curry. I don't think Kerr wanted him, and now he's the only offensive option they have.
