Lost all games against powerhouse LA Teams and then another one to the rebuilding Thunder. Not having key pieces like WCS and Klay really hurt them and I don't know if those two alone can right the otherwise, sinking ship of the Warriors.

There are so many things going on with them right now.

Losing Durant, first to injury and then to free agency, was the biggest hit.  But then also losing Klay just compounded that (we're seeing just how valuable his defensive ability was).  D'Lo is a talent, but he is a terrible fit here and is a much worse defender than a healthy Klay.

On top of all of that their bench has seriously decayed over the last 5 years.  The Warriors used to be a deep team.  Even when they had to let some of their depth go for Durant they still had a few good bench guys that gave them a great 8 man roster.

Curry, Green, Russell is a fair amount of talent, but the rest of the roster is utter trash.  And D'Lo doesn't really fit.  They need to trade him but the value they get may not be great.  This is a year when they might as well just low key tank for a lottery pick, although judging by the early returns, it may not require tanking at all.

No, WCS and Clay will not be enough to right the ship.

It's also quite ironic the year they ditch Oakland for the lure of more money in SF and a fancy new arena they suck.  Poetic justice maybe?

In addition to all of that, there's the 5 straight NBA Finals appearances and 3 consecutive years of coasting through the regular season.  Curry and Draymond haven't needed to grind for 35+ minutes in a long time.  It will be interesting to see how they handle a potential season of fighting for a lower playoff seed.

for sure .... in so many ways. They were not humble in victory at all. There are a lot of teams and fan bases that cannot wait to clown them. The Durant thing was just the lowest. Who goes out and adds a league MVP to that juggernaut they had. Funny how Jerry West always seems to get a soft landing after 'bad plays'.

This is definitely a season for the Warriors to focus on developing some younger players.  Let Klay take the entire year, try not to add too many miles to Steph and Draymond, and live with the growing pains.  Find out of Russell is a new cornerstone or a trade piece, hopefully turn one of Jacob Evans or Jordan Poole into a rotation piece, and grab a top pick in the draft for the first time in nearly a decade.

If Russell, Curry, and Green really figure each other out, then maybe they can be a fringe playoff team and hope that Klay is ready in April.  If not, use this year’s team as a way to transition to the core of your next title contender.

Yeah I hope they get a lot of games on national TV so everyone can see how they react to losing games.

I don't understand what they were thinking when they put that supporting cast in place. What, they think don't need any vets? They think they are so good they do not a bench?

I loved the WCS pickup for them but besides that they put a whole lot of nothing next to their main guys.

Who didn't see that coming though. They lost arguably the best basketball player in the world in Kevin Durant, and their team's second best player is out for the year.

They are going to be a low 6-8 seeded team, first-round exit. They cannot compete with the contending teams of Clippers/Lakers, or the upper-tier team of the Rockets/Nuggets.

The loss of Iggy was also a huge blow as far as veteran leadership and being the "glue guy" goes.

just out of curiosity which do you rank higher contending teams or upper-tier teams?
