I don't like Ron Artest's team offense. He holds the ball too long. Makes slow decisions. Overdribbles. Kills the flow. Plus he's slow and doesn't move much without the ball. Always wants to try and drive or post up people. Stagnates the offense.  And he shoots more often than he should.

If Artest would just play like Bruce Bowen and do nothing but stand in the corner and shoot open 3s, Artest would be a very valuable piece to have. But given the negative contributions he brings to the table offensively, I wouldn't start him in this league. I am not sure I'd even play him as a bench player. A 3rd string situation sub is how I'd rate Artest.

So I have quite a different opinion of Artest than the other comments here.

Technically, I guess we really should be calling Ron Artest,  Metta World Peace. It is like his legal name.

😄😁😅

I agree. I’d start Nique and Ray.

If Philly didn't have separation from the pack, they sure do now.

Dwight Howard is a great pickup too.

So much talent still around at center.

Dallas Mavericks!!! (so far)
PG: Chris Paul
SG: Ray Allen/Ron Artest
SF: Vince Carter/Dominique Wilkens
PF: Anthony Davis
C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Open to any constructive criticism on what I should improve on my team.

Would rather start Artest as a 3 and D guy for a dozen minutes or so, and then have Wilkins play the rest of the game. Vince is better off playing SG and having Allen back him up, or even start over him depending on the matchup. Think you'd do well with some backup big men who can approximate what Kareem and AD bring to the table, there are still some players who can do that.

I'm with Somebody here. I'd start Ron Artest over either Ray or VC, but I think Ray/Artest should be your starters. Ray is such a deadly shooter that it would keep the floor wide open for Kareem. Artest won't demand the ball to be effective as he'll be your shutdown wing defender. Chris Paul runs the show.

Have VC and Nique dominate the second unit. Although, while their games are different, I think what they will offer from a bench unit standpoint is pretty redundant, which is one on one scoring. Not that I'm telling you what to do, but I think you should move one for a wing shooter or a big who's not a high volume scorer.
I also like Ray+Artest, but I think RP can toggle which of VC/Nique to start depending on matchups. If there's a relatively "weak" offensive wing on the opposing team I don't see why he can't start one of VC/Nique to create a mismatch.

I think he'd be nuts to not start 'Nique.

He does have a track record of being more of a 3 and D guy on the Lakers though. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to take up a purely defensive role for the team.

Lanier is hard for me to place.  Great all around player, but I don't think he was elite at anything and never really played with other great players until he was a shell of himself.  I have no idea how he would do in this type of setting and especially coming off the bench.

Yeah, but CP3 - VC - Nique - Kareem all quite work with the ball in their hands. Maybe Chris Paul and Vince Carter can play some off ball, but those were during at the tail end of their careers.

Someone is not going to get enough touches here, right?
