Looking to flip Nash for a wing who can pass, shoot and create his own shot without being too high usage and defend at a high level. Draymond Green can be included as a sweetener if the wing is good enough.

Portland is looking forward the final day of the draft.  We think we can really solidify the bench if everything falls correctly.  As it stands now, we would put our team up favorably against any other team.

PG - Magic Johnson
SG - Clyde Drexler, Dennis Johnson
SF - James Worthy
PF - Charles Barkley, Ben Wallace
C - Moses Malone, George Mikan

Really like how the bench is taking shape adding some defensive monsters.  Overall, 6 of the best 43 players in history including 3 in the top 20 (per ESPN's rankings).  2 3-time MVP winners (Mikan probably would have had at least 3 as well if they had the award then), plus another MVP and a 4-Time DPOY.  Every player (except Mikan) actually played with other all time great players and adapted their games to do so often accepting and thriving in lesser roles.

We believe we've built the most talented team, but also a team that would actually play well as a team.  Creating that team atmosphere, by drafting several real life teammates and focusing heavily on the same "generation".
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Would rather start Artest as a 3 and D guy for a dozen minutes or so, and then have Wilkins play the rest of the game. Vince is better off playing SG and having Allen back him up, or even start over him depending on the matchup. Think you'd do well with some backup big men who can approximate what Kareem and AD bring to the table, there are still some players who can do that.

So you're saying to start Vince and Artest as the wings instead? I was think of something like that as well. Have Ray and 'Nique torch the 2nd units. Also I do have Pau Gasol, which I forgot to put on the post originally.

Yeah, or start Ray if you really want to run the offense through AD and Kareem on offense. I think it's matchup dependent, start Vince or Wilkins depending on which wing position of the other team is weaker offensively.

Pau and Artest did win together.
They do work well off each other. So the argument can be made to run artest off the bench.

I think you need slashing in the starting lineup as well. and shooting off the bench, IMO I would go Artest as a  (defense) and probably vince s the sg.

Ah Pow-Pow-Pow. He's okay I guess, he could survive a dozen minutes per game with Kareem guzzling up a ton of minutes.

I'm with Somebody here. I'd start Ron Artest over either Ray or VC, but I think Ray/Artest should be your starters. Ray is such a deadly shooter that it would keep the floor wide open for Kareem. Artest won't demand the ball to be effective as he'll be your shutdown wing defender. Chris Paul runs the show.

Have VC and Nique dominate the second unit. Although, while their games are different, I think what they will offer from a bench unit standpoint is pretty redundant, which is one on one scoring. Not that I'm telling you what to do, but I think you should move one for a wing shooter or a big who's not a high volume scorer.
