Portland is looking forward the final day of the draft.  We think we can really solidify the bench if everything falls correctly.  As it stands now, we would put our team up favorably against any other team.

PG - Magic Johnson
SG - Clyde Drexler, Dennis Johnson
SF - James Worthy
PF - Charles Barkley, Ben Wallace
C - Moses Malone, George Mikan

Really like how the bench is taking shape adding some defensive monsters.  Overall, 6 of the best 43 players in history including 3 in the top 20 (per ESPN's rankings).  2 3-time MVP winners (Mikan probably would have had at least 3 as well if they had the award then), plus another MVP and a 4-Time DPOY.  Every player (except Mikan) actually played with other all time great players and adapted their games to do so often accepting and thriving in lesser roles.

We believe we've built the most talented team, but also a team that would actually play well as a team.  Creating that team atmosphere, by drafting several real life teammates and focusing heavily on the same "generation".
Final day of the draft is next Tuesday. Today is just rounds 9 and 10.
Yeah, I knew it was 12 rounds, but for someone reason kept thinking it was only 10 rounds.  No idea why.  Either way, I still love this team.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think he'd be nuts to not start 'Nique.

Yeah, but CP3 - VC - Nique - Kareem all quite work with the ball in their hands. Maybe Chris Paul and Vince Carter can play some off ball, but those were during at the tail end of their careers.

Someone is not going to get enough touches here, right?
I think this is going to be the case for virtually every team.

Start Ray & have Vince be your microwave off the bench.  The real question mark is going to be what kind of CP3 you're getting.    I'd also consider a trade for a more facilitating & better fitting PG there.

Just my two cents.

You should love that team. It's a great team.

Yes and no.  That team seems to have a lot of very ball dominant players.

Lanier is hard for me to place.  Great all around player, but I don't think he was elite at anything and never really played with other great players until he was a shell of himself.  I have no idea how he would do in this type of setting and especially coming off the bench.
I think he might even start for the team-not that he's a better player than Ewing, but he's a nice fit on offense.

Yeah, but there are teams who would fare well with their stars touching the ball less because they are able to play off ball and be effective without the ball in their hands. This team is uber talented, but I just look at that starting lineup, and four of those guys would need the ball on their hands to be effective, it could limit the production of the rest of the team drastically, compare to other teams who would only be affected by a little.

Here here.

Ray will be a guy who even without the ball, will do damage. He can just run around and try to get open, all while it's opening up the floor for everyone else, as you can't really give him and breathing room or he'll kill you.

Agh ... error message. It ate my post. I'll try again.

I think he'd be nuts to not start 'Nique.

I am the opposite. I would start Vince.

I don't want to start Nique and have him steal shots from the other players. He is the least efficient scorer and the most aggressive shot taker on the team. That is a bad combination.

Vince Carter is more willing to accept a secondary role and he is a far better outside shooter which best fits with their primary creator CP3 and the best scorer and overall offensive player in Kareem.

Vince is a great start on that team.

Vinces only issue ws his defense, but this lineup limits that.

Shooting, a outlet pass target, vince does everything Nique does, but with less ballhogging and better efficiency.

With the 3rd pick of the 9th round, the Dallas Mavericks select Chris Bosh!

not sure how I feel about that.

On one hand he plays well with others, on the other a terrible defender.

but at this deep of a round, its hard to hit a miss.

He was on the top of my board for this round. His stints with Miami has been pretty good as far as defense. Not elite, but certainly much, much better than what it was with Toronto.

Like this pick.,

I thought Chris Bosh was a good - at times VERY good - defender for MIA.

I thought hard about grabbing him next week but I think CB is a solid pick.
